2024 World Series of Poker May 28th to July 17th ***No Spoilers***
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.
How about Steve Zolotow, aka Stevie Z, aka The Eagle. This year at the ripe age of 79 he took fourth in the $10K Horse event for around $168K.
He used to play high rollers, crushed the first super high rollers. This Series, I have only seen him in mixed games or NL 2-7.
You see a lot more old school players in mixed game or PLO high rollers than playing NLHE with the GTO kids.
He cashed the 6 handed 25k nlhe high roller this year and also went deep in the 5k nlhe where he busted in 21st to a 1 outer. His hendon shows a ton of cashes in nl events at poker go studio and other high rollers in december including a bracelet for 1.7m in a high roller, so it's safe to say he's still playing high stakes nlhe
I saw an interview with her maybe 10 years ago where she played the big $2K/4K mixed game and like 400/800 mixed. I assume she still plays that sort of thing. Probably only plays some tournaments, and those like $10Ks in non NLHE/PLO games.
A lot of those TV pros are grinding low-mid stakes, like Cloutier, Greenstein, Matusow, and Chan. However, some you don't see are playing high stakes cash games mostly. Only like Ivey and Negreanu play NLHE high rollers now.
I know she didn't play for a few years bc of the fear of COVID. She has some kidney condition - im not sure what exactly but she's already had a kidney transplant.
Ausmus at another FT (10k 2-7 Single Draw). Unreal
$10K 2-7 NL final table with big names as usual.
The same Japanese (stunning) female player chip leading the Ladies event again. She came 2nd last year in the event after getting coolered.
Final table tomorrow will be fun to watch the level of play in that event.
I take it Hellmuth is still dumb enough to put his buddy Matusow in all these 10Ks? No way he's got enough roll to be putting himself in them I wouldn't think.

Would be awesome story if she gets the bracelet the next year after coming 2nd in ladies main. She was playing well last year on the final.
I find it quite awesome how during breaks when they play the clips, it often ends on Ivey vs Moon at the ME final table. What really happened sucked but they cut right after Moon calls lol
LOL 80 left in 25K PLO and chip lead looks like this.
Finns are the greatest PLO players of all time no question about that.
It’s weird to me that two of the final three in the 10k 2-7 seem to be complete unknowns. I would have thought we’d recognize almost everyone who cashed in that field.
In 10K NL2-7, Harman as 2nd stack lost chips to snow by chip leader Krela. Then she called Sevier's allin is a slightly worse T. Chip leader Krela called from the SB also with a worse T. Krella patted, Seiver patted a better hand. Then Harman correctly drew to a 9 to beat both of them, but missed. Seiver because close second stack.
Ausmus busted calling allin with a worse draw and both hit. Lin with 600K went allin to a raise to 200K rather than flatting with a strong draw. Then paired and busted. So now HU Trella vs. Seiver. Trella somewhat ahead. Seiver going for bracelet number 7. Particularly if he wins, this finish in this tournament should put Seiver in the HOF.
Now about even. Krela attempted a snow raising KKKQT HU. Worse than the Blezniak hand discussed above. Not sure he realized how bad the reverse blockers were. Folded it to 3!.
Krella shoved postdraw with a T8 for like 1.7x pot in a 3! pot. Seiver called with a 97 to win the bracelet. Seiver was probably the much better player, so had an advantage HU.
That was a fun final table! Since it’s so early, it’d be nice if they kept the stream going, but I don’t think I they will.
Seiver seems to have locked up his case for Poker HOF, just like Rast did last year. Unlike Rast, I don’t think Seiver can be inducted until next year though.
Seiver played much better than Trela did HU, as did Ivey against an unknown in the 10K 2-7 TD tournament.
Came here to see a bunch of people talk about how bad Seiver is, how he's overrated, "fish on a heater," etc. Disappointed. But also not. Because every now and again, I get hope from this place.
Not sure if the WSOP Player of the Year leaderboard is updated to include the 2-7. It shows Ausmus at 2,999.12, Hunichen at 2,751.92 Seiver at 2,736.69 as of this post. In any case, this is a helluva race.
PLO 25K is stacked with big names. Hope to see great final table after tomorrow.
Funny story from tournament. Last hand before latereg ends. Eelis opens and Nik Airball 3bets big enough to commit without looking at his cards.
Eelis folds to keep him at the table and Airball tilts telling that he wont be giving him action.
Seiver played much better than Trela did HU, as did Ivey against an unknown in the 10K 2-7 TD tournament.
Not sure I would classify Danny Wong as an unknown. $5M in tournament cashes. Finished 2nd in the $10k 2-7 TD in 2021 and 15th in 2022.
Looks like he is quite strong in that variant.
Probably most recognizable from finishing 14th in the 2012 Main Event that Greg Merson won.
