“Limpin is pimpin”: top pair on Button is 7 way limped pot
Game is $2-$100 spread-limit. Blinds $1-$2. Effective stack $300. Mid afternoon Monday.
4 guys limp in for $2. We (stack $300) do likewise with Qd4d on Button. SB (stack $900) calls the extra $1, BB checks.
FLOP: QhJd6s (pot: $10 I think? 7 ways). SB leads out for $14. Everyone folds except for me, I call.
TURN: QhJd6s Kd (pot: $38, heads-up). We have turned a flush draw. SB bets $30. We fold, call, or raise?

Fold both times, preflop and flop.
On the rare occasion I limp into a pot with a total piece of cheese, I'm just hoping to smash the flop like a teenager's first car, and if not I'm pretty much done with it.
Q4s? Seriously? C'mon, Davo, you're better than that.
Fold preflop, fold flop, call turn. Flop, you lose to any Q and there are possible draws, etc. Whatever Sklansky's book says, don't play junk.
Is the Sklansky book recommending Q4s? I doubt it... But if so I also remember he mucked KK on the flop in a limped pot, so I would guess he'd also fold tpnk to a pot bet from the blinds
He suggested limping hands like that assuming you have a big advantage postflop.
Surely pre is reasonably ok in position but fold flop obv

I can understand someone wanting to limp in otb for two bucks but calling the flop is more than horrible in a 7 way limped pot. Did you really limp to try and flop a queen. or a flush/FD? Someone out there probably imped with KQ almost guaranteed.
Fold Pre:
Fold Flop: Fold. This is likely 2p+, and at worst a better Queen, so we have very few outs.
Turn: I guess call. We likely have close to no fold equity for a raise.
I would possibly raise this preflop, depending on the table, would fold before limping though.

No one found the correct answer!
RESULT: We raise to $130 and he folds.
Cmon—I’m the only one who can have T9, so unless he has exactly KQ or 66, I win… and even when he has those, I have outs.

If your definition of correct is based on results then sure...
Davo: question for you. Are you actually learning anything or changing behavior on anything we say in these forums? You post a lot, so I'm curious what you've changed. For instance, lot's of people have called you out about the junk you're rasing and calling pre, and certainly that hasn't changed.
And if nothing has changed in your game as a result of what we're saying, then why are you posting?
Fold flop not close.
