2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Probably one of the harder drafts I've done lately. Would've been easier if I didn't get sniped on Carr. Wanted Gesicki or Mayer has my 3rd TE, but got sniped on them as well. So I just took Iosivas as a 10th WR to have a Bengals run back to go with Nix stack.
QB - Watson, Nix, Minshew
RB - Kamara, Ekeler, Singletary, Wright, Guerendo
WR - Puka, Olave, Deebo, Cooper, Higgins, JSN, Jakobi, Franklin, Mims, Iosivas
TE - Njoku, Henry
I planned on doing a 30 second draft but forgot you had to choose that option and entered a 15 second. I do believe this had an effect on some of my choices. The QB situation was weird. I took Goff un stacked because QBs were flying off the board. He was 15 spots past ADP. I knew I could get Geno later. I went with possible upside with Jones. Obviously I am not in love with the crew.
This is my first hyper fragile build at RB. They all have different by weeks so I thought it could work. In theory CMC will be hitting my lineup weekly.
I will be taking a zero week ten when my TE's are off. I've heard this is not the biggest deal. I chose to take Raymond as a stacking partner over a third TE.
QB) Goff, Geno, D Jones
RB) CMC, Etienne, Walker, Spears
WR) Evans, Metcalf, Allen, D Johnson Lockett, Mitchell, Mooney, Slayton, Raymond.
TE) Bowers, Fant.

RB's are fragile
WR's are fantastic. I would have stopped at Higgins and focused on a better RB room and then add WR's later.
I don't love Watson as my number one. I don't like Minchew as my number three.

Agree with mong that once you take Higgins as your 5th WR, you need to pivot. I can even be swayed on JSN as your 6th, as I do that sometimes, but once that happens, you simply have to pivot to the other positions.

It can work. That is a solid group for hyper fragile.
And yeah, a zero at TE isn't a big deal since you would have been adding a late round guy to try to avoid it and those guys project for something like 5 points on average per week, so you're not giving up much. The bigger concern is Bowers in a 2 TE build with late TE as your second TE. Hopefully Bowers comes out of the gate firing.
Usually when I'm drafting Bowers, I like him in a 3 TE build with two late or in a 2 TE build where Bowers is my second TE. Bowers with Muth is probably as thin as I'd get in a 2 TE build, but even there, I might try to add a 3rd.

I agree with you about Bowers. I have prematurely elevated him to elite TE in my mind. I was looking to pair him with a second solid TE but the QB situation kind of through me off.
These fast rooms are wild right now. The 1.01 started Reek, Achane, Metcalf, Kincaid, McBride, Stroud, Kyler, Doubs, Wicks through 9.
I've been working through tons of slows the last few days, so not doing my best thinking through fasts on the fly.
It's alright. Another bad QB stack with only the RB lol. I was planning to take JT Sanders, but that didn't work out.
Mahomes, Bryce, Carr
CMC, Brooks, Gus, Zeke, Lloyd
Deebo, Kupp, Hollywood, Rashee, BTJ, Gabe, Franklin
Bowers, Juwan, Gesicki
QB - Mahomes, Purdy
RB - Monty, Warren, Zeke, Ford, Lloyd, Allgeier, Sermon
WR -Reek, Aiyuk, Deebo, Hollywood, Worthy, Gabe, Elijah, Gallup
TE - Henry, Fant, Gesicki

It's a good squad.
Lucky you to get Rashee falling back to you.
For sure. Trying to add as many 4/5, 6/7 turn Mahomes double stacks as I can while Rashee is still going there.

I’ve been super light on bbm on Mahomes stacks bc I think kerrane said something about how everyone was getting triples earlier in the season. Not sure if that’s correct to do or not. I’m also super heavy on grabbing Andrews and hoping Lamar falls when I draft on that side of the board, which has limited my Mahomes exposure
Plan was to go Dak and Levis, but I got sniped on my bring back in Gabe so decided to pivot to Maye. Felt like I needed a 3rd QB since we don't know if/when Maye will actually start. Fortunately Dimes/Hyatt fell to me in rounds 18/19 and I already had Nabers and Singletary.
QB - Dak, Maye, Jones
RB - Cook, Pollard, Singletary, Chubb, Rodriguez
WR - Lamb, Devonta, Nabers, Ridley, M. Williams, Polk, Roman, Chark, Hyatt
TE - Ferguson, Henry, Juwan

I think that's probably a mistake. I'm sure there were some triple stacks, especially with Kelce, Worthy, and Hollywood all being suppressed pre-draft compared to today. But there can't be many.
I'm also mostly playing contests other than BBM.
I worry about the Andrews/Lamar stack being chalk, especially when paired with the Houston players. But it could also just be the nuts. With that said, I try not to do it every time at the 4/5 turn and mix it up. This is one of those spots I love pairing an elite QB with the option of the another elite QB. I'll do Lamar with McBride or Kincaid for leverage against the Andrews chalk + leverage against Kyler/Josh.
QB) Goff, Cousins, Levis
RB) A Jones, Z White, Pollard, B Robinson, Ekeler
WR) ARSB, Deebo, Kupp, Ridley, B Thomas, Moonie, Baker, Boyd
TE) La Porta, Likely

This team is really good. The only thing i can say is I’d prefer your backup TE be guaranteed to get you points on La Porta’s bye week but this team is def a winner .

I could have grabbed a safer number two but I decided to grab Levis. The last of Fant, Otten, Conklin went right after that.
Thanks for the response!
QB - Tua, Herbert
RB - Jacobs, Pollard, Chubb, Zeke, E. Mitchell, Bigsby
WR - Hill, Waddle, Nabers, Terry, LMC, Roman, Chark, Baker, Reynolds
TE - Kittle, Henry, Jonnu
Not super high on Allen just because of how early he has to be drafted, but I do like him if I have to take Wilson or Breece in the 1st round.
QB - Allen, Levis
RB - Breece, Conner, Javonte, Dowdle, Allgeier, Mattison
WR - Collins, Flowers, Ridley Reed, Samuel, Gabe, Boyd, OBJ, Lazard
TE - Schultz, Otton, Knox
Where does Allen go on DK? On UD he’s in the 4th which feels like a steal
I watched a YT stream earlier where Josh made it all the way to 46 on UD. He started mid-second in the pre-draft contests and has steadily been falling. He was a full round+ more expensive than the guys going in his range now.
When punting WR goes wrong. And one of the main reasons I don't have much Stroud. I already think he's overpriced, so even stack hunting, it's hard to take him over WRs in his range.
Stroud, Deshaun, Maye
Breece, Henry, Brooks, Javonte, Bucky
Nico, Hollywood, Keon, Palmer, Jeudy, Douglas, Bourne, Tillman
Kelce, Schultz
There are paths, especially with the 3 double stacks. Need my WRs to outperform ADP.
Let's say we get a stud QB with a Cousins/Falcons stack.
Is there any merit to punting our last pick on Penix? Cousins is older and it's not out of the realm of possibilities that he either sucks or gets injured again.
I wouldn't handcuff Cousins with Penix specifically. But I think there could be some merit to adding Penix in the last round to a Falcons stack where you already have two decent to strong starters. Penix's pedigree as a top 10 rookie is pretty unique, so he has more paths to playing by the end of the season than the average backup.
One of my favorite squads for my final entry in the Chihuahua. Probably more rookies than I should have in this contest, but I love the upside. The 1.01 is such a cheat code with the way the board currently falls. Although, I did pull LaPorta up for a little bit of uniqueness on the Deebo bring back.
Dak, Jayden
Monty, Zeke, Ekeler, Lloyd, Vidal, Estime
CD, Deebo, Kirk, Terry, Watson, McMillan, Baker
LaPorta, Musgrave, Sinnott

Nice team. Any reason for Lamb over CMC?
QB - Mahomes, Watson
RB - CMC, Brooks, Pollard, Ford, CEH, Shipley
