I would say there has never been a better time in NBA history to win without your best player being a top 5 guy and building a more egalitarian/balanced team by being draft, cap and roster fit/management savvy

so whatever bind the Magic are in as like the 15th best team in the league with promising young guys on rookie max deals is nothing compared to previous eras where you just lost to the very best players and better have fun doing it

The bind you speak of impacts other situations more IMO...Thus giving non-1st tier non-superstar teams a better chance

Min deal. 1st year is only partially guaranteed. 2nd year is a team option.

So, about as little as legally allowed.

I could totally see Wiseman thriving in Indy’s up up up tempo offense.

This is very well put. We are now in the Superbad NBA Era where a young upstart Christopher Mintz-Plasse type can come out of no where to lead your team to the championship.

He wasn’t terrible in limited minutes for the Pistons .
Was hoping the Knicks would take a shot on him .

yeah best time for non-big market teams too i'd say

doubt most of these guys care where they play too much, you make 4-5M a month and the party is at your house with hookers and blow

don't think you're gonna hear that analysis on Dunc'd On anytime soon tho

Yeah I wouldn't have minded Wiseman to the Knicks. Thibs is like the defensive big whisperer.

Right now I'm reallllllllyyyyyy hoping we can get Kessler for Deuce. Deuce is great and on a fantastic contract but he's not a traditional backup PG / we don't have minutes for him.

Kessler also has experience playing for Team USA with Brunson/Hart/Mikal.

I’m a big Kessler fan and Can’t Donte play backup pg for the 5 minutes Thibs is gonna sit Brunson ?

Donte doesn't really run the point, i.e. he had 2.7 apg last year.

However you could run the offense and distributing thru Randle if you stagger Brunson/Randle (which you should be doing anyway).

Bronnie is definitely every bit as terrible as advertised

It's really not going to be easier for small market teams. Everyone is being super cheap because of the apron. The owners are rolling in the profits but there is no hope still for the crap markets that nobody wants to play for.

ESPN certainly trying to sell a different story.

I respect the hustle I guess

Took under 8 for the game for his scoring with my buddy for a couple hundo so I had to watch this shitshow. 2/8 -13 in 17 minutes against the kings 2nd unit is wild. Before the first time he went out everyone was attacking him

And that ignores that this idiot fouled someone on a 3 and it got overturned

If the teams flush with money can't throw it around as easily as before, how isn't that good for small market teams?

Not to mention there basically is no free agency now unless you're an old guy looking for one last payday.

yeah Bronny can't do anything, he's like a 6'1 version of the middle ball brother...and atleast he could shoot OK

just sticks out that he doesnt belong

I'm sure all the talk after the Lakers game will be the solid performance of Hinson and Kuhse.

Eh, capping most teams at 2-3 max guys will force talent to spread around. And there's a ton of edges to make up around the margins on non-max guys who are getting low balled by owners terrified of the 2nd apron.

Real life

Bronny playing better than 1st round pick Dalton Knecht. What a steal with pick #55!

mike penberthy aint walkin thru dat door

Joe Crispin ain’t walking through that door

Len bias ain’t snorting through that table

Derozan to the Kings

H Barnes to SAS in the deal

I want Derozan to be happy.

He's a Raptors legend.

Though I wonder if he gets his jersey retired. Points record all time for the team.

I wish a real contender picked him up.

This will fix Sacramento’s defense

Anyone watch SAS summer league? How did Stephen Castle look?
