The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.

Agree. Since early 2010s, the Main Event winners have nearly all been very good pros (Merson, Reiss, Jacobson, McKeehan, Cynn, Ensan, Aldemir, Jorstad, Weinman). There is NO way someone like Moneymaker, Gold, Yang, can win the Main Event in today's environment. Heck, even Raymer & Hachem, who are both pretty good, can't win it even if they got a crazy rush of cards.
John Hesp got 4th in 2017 with perhaps less poker savvy than any of those champs. ItÂ’s still possible. And heÂ’s fishier than any of the champions.
Guys like Lococo. , George Holmes, Farnes arenÂ’t fish but arenÂ’t even close to super pros and final tabled it.
IÂ’d argue Qui Nguyen is on the fishier side, certainly compared to someone like Hachem, and he straight up won it . Not to say he didnÂ’t play well but guys like Gold also made some good plays too like bluffing Prahlad that gets forgotten about.
Certainly the average skill level is way higher and the structure will tend to weed out the donkeys but itÂ’s still a card game that a fish on a heater could easily win.
That is the kind of thing someone with a maturity level of a 12 year old might say. Arent you like 50?

In reality it's some poor young Chinese guy who's been human-trafficked to a sweatshop in Myanmar and is now forced to try to initiate pig-butchering scams against lonely Westerners all day.
Tuchman is just the worst. He’s got a world class player in the booth who is eager to talk strategy and share valuable insights…and he’s making it all about him. Be the play by play guy and let Chance do the ****ing color commentary! We don’t want your **** strategy “insights” and we don’t care about you opinions. Just let the expert talk and stop trying to impress us with how skilled a player YOU are.

He gets a lot of stick but gold did play very well for his win imo. Sure he absolutely god moded but his table talk was perfect for getting his opponents to do exactly what he wanted that year.
Seems like they really value the concept of crossover appeal, so someone who is vaguely famous outside of poker is a strong candidate to be picked.
I guess I see both sides of it. I'd rather watch some crushers play than Kevin Pollak (sorry Kevin Pollak). On the other hand, the early days of the Main are when it's still full of carnival energy. You'll get plenty of chances to see Euro pros 5-bet bluff on days 5 and 6 when all the Hollywood types are back home watching from the couch.
I see both as well, but how much crossover do they expect if Pollak is your go-to? That influencer/actress or whoever that accidentally slow-rolled someone the other day is type you use for that. And players in her position would love to do it. If not her, than hunt down an active or lively table. Or grab one of the biggest stacks in the room. Until it gets deep, I’d prefer to see unknown huge stack bullying, especially when they donk it all off lol

Yes, especially if its someone like Neymar, an elite sportsman who's world famous. I also would have preferred to see a different table than Pollacks table but I do get why they showed it.
The thing that I do wonder about is the WSOP is now behind a paywall on Pokergo. Which means the audience watching are the real hardcore poker fans. I'd say that audience would rather see named players playing than lower grade celebs.

On twitter, IG and FB there are bots running around following random dudes and liking super old tweets/posts, etc. I assume they're just casting a super wide net and get handed off to a human if they get any response.

Kitty is probably smart so he gets to have a kid with decent genetics and especially if she has some money behind so he doesnt have to pay for everything its pretty good deal. If hes not happy he always can just break up and find a younger woman later and just see his kid sometimes. Hes a man so he doesnt need to be in the kids life babysitting all the time so its not a big problem, men can afford those kind of mistakes naturally a lot more than women.
And she actually looks pretty good for her age so yeah, good genetics and good pick for franky. He is not a super succesful or looking like a model himself.

Few things are worse than abandoning your kid emotionally, financially, socially, etc.
Mistake or not, he cant run from the fact he now owes that kid his best effort in every way for the rest of his life
You must be young or not have kids . . . or you're bitter and we're abandoned yourself in some way as a kid

He has absolutely nothing to say, so he just repeats the same stuff... He resets like an old school announcer, "We're here at Horseshoe casino in LAS VEGAS, it's the Main Event... Day 2, Las Vegas... Nevada. Poker Go, coverage of the Main EVENT!"
Or he reads player bios, in deep detail. Because he's not witty or funny, and doesn't add anything relevant for poker strategy
