Plumbers possibly stole something anything I should do?
Had the house repiped a couple months ago. There is an attic access point in the closet in my office. Nobody ever goes in my office other than me. The plumbers were in there alone for attic access.
My office is themed as though it is Indiana Jones’ office. I have a bunch of adventure-y type things in there including authentic ancient artifacts and tools and such. It’s supposed to be as though it is Indiana Jones’ office from the 1930s.
Anywho, I had a 4,000 year-old terracotta bust on the bookshelf and it’s not there anymore. I have a bunch of artifacts in there so I didn’t notice it missing until now.
I can’t prove the plumbers took it but nobody else ever goes in that office and it is definitely missing now.
Any thoughts on what, if anything, I can or should do about this situation?
I'm ambivalent towards Harrison Ford. It's probably from being 10 years old when it came out and everyone loved it but when people described the story to me I checked out. That sort of movie isn't my thing and then it became a thing that I never saw it and it stuck. There's your principle.
Of course there are other big movies I've never seen:
Independence Day - We're really going to defeat those aliens? Nope
Titanic - The boat sinks
Avatar - fellow 2p2er described it as Dances with Wolves with blue people
Star Wars other than IV-VI - Loved the originals when they came out. Went to all three when they were rereleased in the late 90s and realized they aren't awesome and Luke is a whiny little bitch until he's not.
The only actors that used bother me are Molly Ringwald and Julia Roberts and that's mostly faded.

Still not sure if principle is the right word but I can’t think of a better one right now so I guess we’ll go with it.
Independence Day - obviously a man made 1990s computer virus will stop an invasion of a far superior technologically advanced alien race. Not sure why you doubt that.
Titanic - Only good for the special effects. The story sucks. The boat sinks but it’s interesting to watch it sink.
Avatar - Easily the most overrated and overhyped unoriginal pile of crap ever made. I don’t get the fascination with it at all. It’s Dances with Wolves and FernGully with tree hugging blue people. I can’t stand that movie.
Star Wars - There’s a whole other thread on that but you’re right about Luke. Originals were good but that’s it.

I assume you've actually seen those and agree. What's compelling about Indiana Jones? I understand it's a period piece in the 30s and involves Nazis and some magic.

Why even ask the question? It’s pretty clear that nothing anyone says will compel you to watch it. You don’t seem the type to change stance this deep into the game.
Perhaps you’re missing out, perhaps not. The world slowly turns.

Yes, I’ve seen those and that’s my take on them.
I like good movies. I have a couple uncles in the industry and tried my hand at screenwriting and did some background work for awhile. So I guess I just like quality films, in general.
Indiana Jones is just a fun film that has some terrific writing and cinematography. It’s well-shot and enjoyable to watch. I like the concept of the smart professor type who actually hates his job but does it to fund his double-life as an adventurous treasure hunter. But he’s not into treasure for financial gain and is more about the archeological significance.
The concept, the writing, the flow, the iconic song, all of it is just solid and on-point.
Keep in mind, I’m talking Raiders of the Lost Ark. Temple of Doom isn’t very good but The Last Crusade is also a fine film.
The more recent crystal skull one is junk and I haven’t even seen the most recent one as it didn’t look all the great from the previews.
My dad had a similar typewriter, but it was a lot older. Binocs like that too. After he died, a lot of douchebags were in and out of that house and conned my mother out of a lot of good stuff.
I had a flood in that house a few years later, and Servicemaster had a crew in there drying it out. I know they stole a rifle from me. I confronted the franchise owner, and I think he knew it, but I couldn't prove it in court.

Deaths always tend to bring out the worst in some people.
My father-in-law recently passed and within a day or two, some family member who hasn’t been around in years decided to show up and go through the house looking for stuff to sell.
It’s sad and bizarre.

Now this is something I could get behind.
Indiana Jones is non-essential in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Without him, the same result happens. The nazis find it, take it to the island, open it, and die.
BAZINGA!!!
Is this thread about 1980's NBA players?
dude, turn some ****ing papers over and give us a picture.
