KQo in the CO as small stack

KQo in the CO as small stack

Blinds 50$cent/1.50$

Im first in and raise to 4.50 from the CO with KQo and 55$, button calls and BB min 3bets to 9$

Hero calls:
button calls:

Pot: 27.50$

Flop: K 9 2 rainbow

BB makes a 25$ bet

1st question is it to loose to open here with KQo from the CO as shorty? And can I ever get away from this flop because this flop bet smells in combination with the pre-action so hard like AK?

Raise pre for sure, I would fold to the 3b. You called, now call flop call turn.

but the 3bet is only 2X. How can I fold there? Arent the odds too good?

What happened here is going to happen a lot.

Is this an app game? Live home game?

First off, why not buy in 100bb deep?

I wouldn't fold to the min raise pre. Yes, you open your hand, you should study preflop charts to know what you should open.

Just jam flop. Pot will be 77.5 and you have just 21 behind if you call flop.

If you're going to play 37bb deep and you hit top pair with kq this shallow, you have to get it in.

for bankroll reasons Im playing the shorty.

I'm only calling the flop because I want to keep the guy behind me in in case he has something like KJ or KQ

Playing 30 BB deep in european turbo rake casino seems like an auto lose strategy.

Also at these stakes usually people raise way more than 3x BB, like $12-15, and then yeah you just never get away from it. As played, you are probably facing AA or AK at these stakes, its probably a super exploitative fold.

I think it's important to consider what is likely to happen before saying the odds are "good". If the flop is King or Queen high, do you ever get paid off by worse? Probably not. If you whiff are you going to be able to navigate postflop to steal this pot, especially in the middle of two players? probably not. So before we judge if odds are good or not, we have to ask what do the odds correspond to. This hand is not going to make you money, and you're getting baited in by "good" odds. Suited I would feel differently about.

Pre seems good. Open shove flop seems good. Will get called be every K, some 9 and lots of broadway gutters. Obviously shove over the raise.

Just saw this. Actually don’t hate you just flatting the bet as long as all you’re remaining chips go in on turn regardless of action. Still prefer flop shove (any FE whatsoever is a HUGE win to you as a short stacker).
