For my 100,000th post!
Some of you may remember my road trip from LA to Panama in 2018. Well after 4 years of shutin grinding, the book is finally out!

The book is a travelogue with humor, some adventure, me eating a lot and getting into stupid situations, and a bunch of hopefully fascinating historical info. on ancient Mesoamerica and modern Mexico and Central America. If anyone is familiar with Bill Bryson, it's very much in the style of Walk in the Woods, In a Sunburned Country, and his other books.

I was going to wait until I got out of Kindle jail to make this post. But it's looking like my soul-sucking battle with Amazon might drag on for a while. Their AI-powered fraud detection system thinks my Kindle plagiarized my paperback, and now their overworked support people in India or wherever are just mashing buttons. But the Kindle version will be available soon one way or another.
Also I was running out of posts before 100k in the WSOP thread.

Best story in the book?
The story I've gotten the most mileage out of is basically the dramatic climax of the book. I got trapped on the wrong side of Nicaragua during the uprising of 2018. I could get out, but I'd have to leave my car behind. Eventually I wound up talking my way through a bunch of roadblocks manned by student revolutionaries armed with homemade rocket launchers. That was a wild day.
