yeah that was weird, the music started ramping up like something big and dramatic was about to happen, and i had no idea what. and then i was right, nothing really happened. oh wait, they realized that they needed more dragonriders ... which is something i thought they knew during s1e10 when daemon was singing to vermithor lol
(plus they kinda planted the dragonseed idea with aegon's bastards in s1e9)
and like ... rhaenyra knows that laenor is alive. and he has a big dragon. you're kind of desperate right now. figure it out

I enjoyed it more because so much is going on at once.
also just remembered that harold westerling is out there ... somewhere. i believe he was rhaenyra's personal kingsguard at the start of the show before becoming lord commander, he refused to kill her when ordered to by otto, she currently only has 2/7 kingsguard spots filled afaik ... figure it out.
this show has a weird habit of introducing things and then just dropping them for like 7 episodes.
e.g. otto going to highgarden (and/or oldtown)
Show is better than got. **** dem dragons. Hard to envision the blacks "winning" now but I assume the greens will fumble the ball a bunch.
Is it really better than GOT? Loved first few seasons of GOT then obv we know what happened. Watched first season of HOD and liked it but production was obv less and wasn't super pressed for S2. May give it a try if this is consensus.

Not going to say it’s better but it’s trending in that direction. Reminds me of peak HBO where I am looking forward to Sunday night.
I didn't like season 1 very much and now I very much look forward to Sunday night as well. It was a slow burn, but show is starting to hit its sweet spot with a bunch of intertwined storylines all starting to evolve.
if you're loving the show, you'll probably also enjoy these asx/glidus conversations about the episodes. informative and quite a lot fun. also tend to agree with just about all their takes about what is working and what isn't
it is a terrible show with a poorly executed hole-filled plotlines...set against the back drop of hundreds of even worse shows on tv...that don't burn people with dragons...making it great.

the daemon stuff is 1000x more interesting than rhaenyra having pointless meetings and doing nothing but whining how her problems are everyone's fault bu hers for like 10 straight episodes, gods she sucks. anyway yeah this daemon arc seems over now that he's realized he to not be an ******* or whatever.
should be some kool battles the next 2 eps with everything converging on the riverlands

nah they aren't starving. pretty sure my man said they have enough to keep the place going, fires burning, people fed and all that, but they didn't have the coin to fix up the castle and host an army of thousands as daemon requires
