The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.
Really wasn’t that bad. Maria made a good observation that Griff was suddenly taking longer on decisions, perhaps as a strategy thing and Lon misunderstood it to mean he was tanking too long and started commenting on it every time he took just 20 seconds which there were several players who took longer than that.
Super weird seeing Ali and Schulman as the sideline reporters. Such a shame they weren't in the booth.
Lon and Norm were awesome in the edited classics. They are not built for live commentary. If the shows are being edited down then just do what they did before and have Lon and Norm add the commentary after the fact. For the live stream, however, have the A team or some combination of Schulman, Ali, Maria, Kerstetter, Platt, Hanks, Rast, etc...........anybody but Lon and Norm.
I mean Schulman looked drunk or high during the breaks and completely disinterested and out of it while refusing to lean into Ali's schtick and attempt to make bigger deals out of hands that were nothingburgers which is infinitely worse
I don't think he was tanking at all. He's the only amateur. He's counting to 20 (according to the announcers) each hand to avoid giving off timing tells and to think the spots through carefully. He played really well and as a fellow recreational player, I am definitely rooting for him.

Counting to 20 before folding pre is precisely what I was referring to and is completely unnecessary. I wouldn't have any complaints if he counts to 20 before flatting or three-betting to avoid any timing tells associated with that, but it doesn't help you to count off before folding.

The pre-flop tank on hands that are obvious folds has made this unwatchable for me live. I can watch on replay by fast forwarding those, but actually found the poker go highlights on YouTube pretty good also. They had every major hand including all the bust outs.
We have not seen too many Tamayo vs Griff hands, so those should be interesting when they happen. I expect today to be way better than last year's putrid final day of three-handed play.

I don't know Griff's 3-bet range, but did Astedt put him on AQ-AK as that huge a part of it? THat's surprising, but Lena is a much better player than I'll ever be. I'm kind of confuzzled.
