2024 ELECTION THREAD
The next presidential race will be here soon! Please see current Bovada odds. Thoughts?
Not really, Trump is beating anybody the Dems put up, and if Harris does not invoke the 25th immediately, then it is free election capital for Trump to indicate his (assumed) opponent is incapable of making the big but correct decisions
who has trump attracted to vote for him that wasn't already voting for him in 2020?
trump's only real advantage this go round was that dems weren't super happy with bidens age.

lol
says the UK pundit
afraid you're way off w your analysis
Michelle Obama here we go
I'M WITH HER
just endorsed harris
I can think of a poster or two who claimed they don't want Trump, but were forced to hope for him against Biden - they must be excited about this development!
Also, I find it really weird that some people put so much stock in political betting markets, as if in isolation they prove something.
The calls by Dems for biden to resign immediately if he isn’t going to run for president is absolutely ****ing wild
Wtf is happening lol
Exactly.
yep
strategic mistake. the honor/loyalty Dem crap is how you got Hillary
Kamala is a better candidate than Biden, but wouldn't be part of the strongest ticket possible
the Veep pick plays an oversized role in a spot like this
lastly, Harris shouldn't debate Trump. Trump isn't a serious person when it comes to a traditional debate, so just set that aside

idk. i think this was the least chaotic decision. it will be interesting to see the law with regards to the delegates that are already pledged to Biden/Harris. there is some thought that without biden and with Harris running w/ endorsement that those delegates wouldn't be released but still obligated to Harris.. not sure on that though.
harris should absolutely debate Trump if it's a possibility. she's much better at it than most. on the other hand i doubt Trump will agree to debate her. no upside in it for him now.
the stuff about hillary is true though, i agree.

I’m not a fan of Harris as a nominee at all but the cleanest way towards avoiding an extended convention is biden firmly endorsing a nominee so his delegates can just got there
And biden can’t really endorse anyone but kamala
Going in this direction means harris can fixated on the VP choice (I’m guessing Shapiro at this point) rather than courting a fiasco
Trump was basically the same price to win before and after Biden dropping out. It was an inevitable thing that would happen at some point, the only question being how quickly the Dems acted to minimise the damage to their campaign. It was priced in. I mean I'm sorry for the hard left here (for which there are plenty) that they took way, way too long to do anything, but clarksonohnoanyway.gif
The fact that trump is now the oldest presidential candidate in American history is objectively hilarious
