Chase too much .. value bet too thin? Looks like a bet for sure, but you didn't tell us about either of the traits we need to know about right now ..
1) Does he trap? Prob not if he value bets too thin. This line is not one of a whale by any means .. unless he like to trap YOU.
2) Is he a POW? Whales typically do sigh-call-off with the best of them and I can't imagine not being good most of the time .. 210? GL
betting turn is bad! check
would check river as played - if you bet, it should be for exploitative reasons involving this particular opponent
Yup not in love with turn bet (especially sizing, it looks so weak). River you can't expect him to bluff catch enough I think though you probably have the best hand a lot. And you are blocking his calls.

There is so much goodness in this response to unpack. I bolded the critical part, this goes back to the theory of poker wrt to value betting - we not only need to have the best hand but villain has to be able to have enough hands that are worse than our and are willing to call for us to justify a bet.

Betting thin otr isn't as much of a thing in PLO as it is in NLH, yes?
Yes it is, just have to be prepared to bet/fold or bet/call depending on spot. If youre afraid youre gonna be bet/folding too much then you can skip the thin spot and just x/c. But tons of thin bets available due to how many bluffs are usually available. I have in general two sizings I use on the river

Hmmm okay, my impression is that is players (recreational ones, at least) generally bluff less in PLO because doing so often involves turning made hands into bluffs (example: 2 pair on a flushed board)

correct - optimal strategy in omaha is far more polarized than NL
the lines between thin bets and blocker bets are also a lot more blurry
while there are still spots for thin bets, it is important to be selective, against strong players it will often lose more $$ than it wins; the strategy to exploit bad players can be very different because their ranges are so weak

Makes sense, thank you. Basically just preparing for my local private game where everyone is loose-passive.
