Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards
Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?
I have read about it in the past, just curious.
The drinks thing is funny. Id love to see the spreadsheet that led to that decision. Maybe the damage from poker grinders is somehow worse than we imagine.
All of the stores/bars/restaurants which participate in the vouchers are owned by CET. So I think the pure cost analysis put forth by some is probably fairly accurate, meaning CET doesn’t pay for the actual price of the drinks… only the cost of labor/materials.
And I don’t think the number of poker grinders is high enough to represent a major cost. IMO there are only two reasons they are adopting this change in policy. 1) because it will save a little money. And 2) because casinos generally hate poker.
Yes, they will take a PR hit, but my guess is their calculation is that it will largely be a PR hit among customers they care little for.
Random question but not sure where else to put it. I am coming to Vegas for the NAPT in November and hotel prices are insane the week of November 4. I am Diamond Plus with Caesars and even Flamingo is $200+ during the week. What the heck is going on in Vegas that week?
Sema - November 5-8, 2024
Pretty sure the Laurel Lounges are still open in AC. At least they were in April when I was there last.

I get diamond passively from online play. I don't think I'd bother grinding for it anymore otherwise.
Glad I had 7 Star in 2018/2019....seemed to be the peak of it. Those 7 Star lounges in AC were the best
I got a second call from them yesterday telling me mine had been revoked. Except this time they called me by the wrong name and even referred to me as Doctor.

They are still there. At least at Harrahs as of this January.

Definitely check rates as the date gets closer. You can always cancel and rebook at the cheaper rates.
Sometimes rates never come down but over the years a lot of times in Vegas I've seen rates really tank a lot at the last minute if expensive weeks.

Do you have to take the call for it to get revoked? Can you avoid them like George Constanza did to avoid getting dumped by the girl?
Anyone know what happens with the 7star $1200 Vegas retreat if you are local?
Maybe you have to start buying them 4 drinks now

I've been to SEMA. It was insane. Even getting to and from the convention center was horrible. Lots of people I know just walked. Monorail was packed. All the nearby parking was full or sky high. The friends I was with parked at the Riviera.

I approve of this!
This year I have used my Diamond status and discounts to book quite a few rooms at various Caesars properties in Vegas. My wife and I have some flexibility in our lives so I have been booking rooms in Vegas whenever it was even slightly convenient. Early this year she had to go to California for work, so after she was done, I met her in Vegas and we spent a few days. Another example was my friend going to Vegas for a conference. Afterwards I got a room and we stayed there for a few days.
Anyway, in total I have booked 5 different trips to Vegas at Caesars properties this year. All using basic discounts from my Diamond card.
So my friend tells me that he will be out there for an Amazon Reinvent conference in early December. He won't be that busy so I decide that I will go out and we will have some fun.
I look up rates on the Caesars app and I am quoted rates at The Horseshoe or The Flamingo really cheap (less than $25 per night). However when I go to book those rooms, I get a message saying I have booked to many stays at that hotel/destination and the new rate is $149 per night.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Anyway,
Did you give them play while staying there? And live poker doesn’t really count. Need to give them enough degen play. That is why they give the discounts. You can get away with a stay or two wo such play but you have found out what the limit was for you.
Right now my seven star status is effectively suspended but only at my home property. Long story. But I still get room offers at other CET props. Still get my seven star trips and celebration dinners etc. Just no offers at home casino.

I'm not diamond, but I am only able to book three active reservations in LV at a time at the lowest rate. If I already have three reservations and try to book a fourth, I get the error message and have to take the higher generic rate. I'm guessing this is what's happening with you.
If that's the case, the solution is to cancel one or more of your later reservations until you only have two active LV reservations total. Then you should eventually be able to book again at the lowest possible rate.

Pretty sure there is only one active reservation. The other five I believe are all in the past. That is they already stayed for those.
The issue almost definitely is that the play associated with those stays was low enough that CET sees offering more to be a overall money loser.
I'm not busy. Can't imagine how someone as opinionated as you got your 7 star status suspended.
Had nothing to do with my opinion. My seven star is almost totally due to wife play as I don’t play much slots. But early in the year I was not in town as was taking care of my elderly mother. So wife was playing my free play on video poker but was focusing her slot play on her card to renew her seven star status.
So since they saw me collecting free play but not giving any play back they killed all local benefits. NBD to me. Certainly something they have a right to do. What’s funny is through play elsewhere I am diamond elite for next year. Depending on if we hit any 10x bonus days when wife is with me still might earn seven stars with almost zero play at the casino 15 min from my house. If not still diamond elite and can be a seven star companion.
Like I said based on the play on my card I understand what they chose to do. Should I have time to go in and talk to them I might see if they will reopen the offers. If not NBD.

the solution is to call them. on the phone you can have more than 3 reservations in their antiquated system.
sometimes the rates are a little higher and talking to them is extremely annoying with them asking all kinds of stupid questions and statements (what brings you to vegas, what casino games do you play, don't forget to bring your lucky bag for all of that money you're going to win etc) and reading a bunch of disclaimers. My favorite is when they ask what time you'll be arriving especially if the reservation isn't for a long time when it's totally irrelevant. if you there before 4pm either rooms are ready for early check in or they aren't.
it's definitely aggravating to waste 10 or 20 mins on the phone for something that takes 10 seconds online but it's the best option when you can't book online.

Can’t speak to the rest, but if you arrive later than they think you will, your room preference may not be available. There have been lots of trips I have taken where I had to change rooms on the second day because I didn’t think to let them know I would be coming late.
