Newport Folk Festival has four stages, one main stage outside Fort Adams and three within the fort. The big names are outside, but some of the inside acts are outstanding. This act performed inside and drew the largest crowd I've ever seen on one of the inside stages. I had no idea so many young people were Grateful Dead fans.

and willie's voice is gotta be what angels would sound like if they were real and sang, and pancho and lefty such a perfect song for his voice.
modern pop country is such an embarrassment but man the real OG country guys like willie, merle, rek jr, cash etc were just so great and love how the songs always told a great story.
and I didn't quote it cuz I know quoting too many videos will slow down loading the page but the bluegrass sweet child o mine so great and touch of grey one of my fav songs ever.
coincidentally another of my favs is shades of grey by the aforementioned robert earl keen jr.

back when we did the super group musician draft I took derek for my guitar player.
my band kicks some serious ass but unfortunately all original music no covers so can't post here.
for anyone unfamiliar with the tedeschi trucks band watch some live performances on YouTube they're truly amazing and if I wasn't so tired and lazy I'd post one of their live collaborations with dave matthews band covering all along the watchtower oh my.
