The liberal media and the police Killing of Sonya Massey
I didnt give much thought on the title but I wanted to see if people actually took the time to watch the police body cam footage. I mentioned the media because nobody seems to want to talk about the obvious. This cop is still locked up as far as i know and everyone seems to be villainizing him. I actually took the time to watch the video in slow motion and you can clearly see that the lady 100% intended on throwing boiling water on him. There is no dispute on that yet nobody wants to say it for fear of upsetting an all too familiar narrative. If you watch the video you will clearly see that the woman drops to floor holding only her oven mitts. The pot is sitting on the counter. The officers arm obstructs the bodycam up until the last second where you see the woman holding the pot and throwing it at the cop. I just dont understand how in the freeist country in the world not a peep is being mentioned about this. You can say well the cop should have dropped back or ran and thats a valid argument but what you dont do is pretend that this lady was innocent when it seems to be an instance of a very troubled lady choosing to die at the hands of a cop. I will try to link the video below if that is cool with mods. It's not graphic. It will be the last 5-6 seconds and you obviously need to watch it in slow motion. It is the bodycam of the cop who shoots her. You have to realize he is only about 5 feet from her and his arm blocks a good chunk of the crucial 5-6 seconds. He is lucky his arm didnt block the whole thing or he would be spending the rest of his life in prison.
I don't really understand the justified shooting narrative in this case. She dropped to the floor behind the kitchen counter when the officer pulled his gun out. There's no danger to the officer from her throwing water on him from the position she was in.
I think you can give the officer the benefit of the doubt for drawing his weapon, if he misheard/ misinterpreted the "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" comment, however this shooting is really beyond the pale.
OP, if your next post is anything other than timestamps and/or stills to support your narrative, it's going to be 100% clear to everyone here that you're FOS and are trying to spin a yarn you don't believe yourself.
Well I see precision in what she did. I dont know what she did that made him draw his gun. I know what she said and that most certainly bothered him but I believe she made a physical gesture that made her intentions clear. That's when he draws his gun and yells his unambiguous command. She has a fearful reaction to it and says "I'm sorry" and takes her hands off the pot and drops to the floor. He could've ran out the house at that moment I suppose. Although he did have a partner there also in da
Bolded seems like a huge problem with your defense of the officers.
Police have to deal with people who are intoxicated, mentally unstable, or otherwise irrational all the time. If that person is threatening someone else, then de-escalation may not be a practical option. For example, if the woman in video had been threatening to pour boiling water on an infant, it obviously would have been inappropriate for the police to retreat unless they thought that was the best option for protecting the infant. If that person is threatening the officers with a ranged weapon, or is threatening an officer in close quarters with a deadly weapon like a knife, then de-escalation may not be a viable option. If that person is actively beating the hell out of your partner, then de-escalation may not be an option.
But I just don't see it here. It appears to me that the officers could have retreated with little risk. And it seems that you may agree.
At what exact timestamp does she throw anything at the cop? I am struggling to make this out in the footage. Can you post a still?
28:18 He draws his gun and she takes her hands off the pot holding oven mits
28:19 She puts her hands above her head and drops down to the floor (it's not clear if she is sitting, kneeling or lying down).
she's completely out of view from the camera until 28:21
28:21 You see her come into view with the pot above her right shoulder in both of her hands.
28:21 You see the pot leaving her hands completely dumped directly towards the cop
the video starts at 28:16
28:21 You see her come into view with the pot above her right shoulder in both of her hands.
28:21 You see the pot leaving her hands completely dumped directly towards the cop
Wat?
I can see maybe a flash of her on 28:21, not even long enough for me to be able to pause on that exact moment or seek it out using the slider. And I certainly can't make out anything in her hands. Can you post a still of "her come into view with the pot above her right shoulder in both of her hands"?
Also, how is she magicking up this pot in her hands? It was on the stove. Do you mean she springs up and grabs it from the stove? All in like 1-2 frames of video at 30fps or whatever?

dude I linked a video on youtube time stamped to begin less than 5 seconds from the point he shoots her. How the **** can I be any more precise than that. You made like a dozen posts and finally say "i'll take a look".

I think you missed the part where I watched it and asked you for timestamps and stills of key moments several times before I posted that.
Cops are scared, dumb animals and you have to be extraordinarily careful around them to avoid getting killed.
OP, clearly all your claims ITT hinge on what happens at 28:21. Please post a still of her with the pot above her right shoulder in both of her hands, at 28:21 or otherwise.

I should have mentioned that I'm able to watch youtube videos at 15x speed and go to as slow as .07 speed. There's something you download and you are able to adjust the speed on the top left of all videos.
^^I should note that I am assuming above that you are on a PC. If you're not, just google how to do it for the device you are using.

Bro, just make the effort and post the stills. All your claims ITT absolutely hinge on the existence of these frames, that nobody else can see except you.

Dude, no. If you can message them to my phone you can post them here. You can both upload and paste images on this forum. I think there are FAQs in ATF on how to do it.
What device are you on, is it PC or a phone?
here's a link to change the speed above 2.0 on youtube
https://twitter.com/WhiteBoySabbath/stat...
this is not as good as watching on youtube at a very low speed but you'll see what I'm talking about at least. dont know the person so dont associate me with them please. I just searched her name on twitter quickly.
Ok, I see what you're looking at now. Yeah, it's totally unclear from the full speed video. I'll post my thoughts on that in a second.
If you can't see it at real speed, how did the cop see it?
