Carnivore vs vegan diet
I, for one, prefer animal foods, but also eat some fruits like berries and apples, as well as bell peppers, and tomatoes from my pillow.
Get stomach ache from broccoli and sauerkraut, despite being german...
You have strong opinions, but obviously no knowledge or experience regarding these topics.
Try Professor Bart Kay on youtube to educate yourself.
All i wanted to get across is that 9 calories per gramm of fat is wildly inacurate in general, and even more so when you eat a species appropriate diet (no sugar, high fructose corn syrup, grains, seed oils etc etc).
Try losing weight only eating ice cream.
Try gaining weight only eating broccoli.
It's all just about calories, simple math, CICO ha?

Obviously, huh? Lemme guess... you used to be, or still are, very overweight, yes? Answer that question before I check out any youtube shills you recommend.

If 9 calories per gram of fat is wildly inaccurate, then what's the range, 3-27 cals per gram of fat? Put it this way: it's accurate enough when someone is trying to dump off a boatload of weight. If someone stalls, eat a little less; if someone loses too quickly, eat a little more.

Lmao. Yes, you can lose weight eating only ice cream. That's not even up for debate.
Can't wait for your closer: "Starvation mode is why obese dieters are obese."
Holy crap LoLakes (btw i still love your cheese)
I did not know Dr Berg was a chiropractor, quack, and Scientologist.
Thanks man.

No, and no.
I'm 1.98m, and went from 119kg to 102.5kg within the last two months.

I used intermittent fasting and a few 36-48 hour fasts to lose weight...
You like to make at least one stupid assumptions in every post.
Lemme guess:
You are a very unsatisfied, and uneducated american?
In other words, you consumed fewer calories than you were consuming before. Shocker.
Can't wait for your next banger of a post, which will be something along the lines of: "You can eat 5K calories in a 4-hour window and you will lose weight so long as you don't eat for the other 20 hours in the day."
Sounds like my assumption was spot on.
Unsatisfied with what?
As for being uneducated, I'm educated enough to know that if your beliefs had any merit, you wouldn't feel the need to resort to personal insults.
As for broccoli, yes, if one can fit enough broccoli in his or her stomach each day to create a consistent calorie surplus, then that person will gain weight. It's not rocket science, but it is science.
I answered your next wrong assumption that i'll say starvation mode keeps fat people fat, by saying i did fasting succesfully...
Not a single one of your offensive assumptions has been right, so far. What are you talking about?
I didnt use personal insults, i made an assumption, too. Now you are mad, because - not like your countless ones - my one assumption was right (you are unsatisfied, and uneducated).
I am curious about the diet you followed. Was it something that you can link to, or what is just a general "don't eat carbs" thing?"
The Carnivore diet (it's not actually referred to as a diet but as a WOE (way of eating) is very specific if followed correctly.
Simply only eat animal products and a lot of fat (the consumption of animal fat is very important for the body as opposed to being mislead in the 80's when everyone was talking about eating low fat diets to stay healthy and lose weight but it was actually the opposite. Fat doesn't turn into fat as we've been lead to believe. It's an important energy source). You can eat all kinds of meat, fish, bacon, eggs and some cheese and drink only water, mineral water or sparkling water (tea and coffee isn't considered carnivore but they won't hurt you too much. You can put some cream in it but no sugar). This diet doesn't include any plant life which is also a very important factor. It's been discovered that the chemicals in plants that guard them against their own environments are destructive to our bodies. It also does not include any diet drinks or sugar substitutes.
Many people (tens of thousands) have cured type 2 diabetes and other ailments such as depression and anxiety, which is why I went on carnivore about 5 years ago. I suffered with anxiety and panic attacks due to severe PTSD that were so bad I couldn't even function for 3 months so I went full carnivore in depensation after hearing Kevin Rutherford interview people on the radio who went on carnivore for weight loss but it cured their anxiety issues. I was on a keto diet at the time so it wasn't too hard to adjust. It was the best thing I've ever done in my life because the anxiety melted away within days. I'm sure everyone probably knows someone with these problems, I can tell you from firsthand experience it's the worst thing anyone can go through but we have such a simple cure that's 100% effective.
These results can be verified - there's a facebook group called "carnivore diet for beginners" just join the group, and then search in it for anxiety and you'll see all the thousands of posts form people that were cured (also search it for diabetes, arthritis, or whatever it is you need to be cured from).
One of the best youtubers to follow is Anthony Chaffee MD. I saw this video yesterday, it's of an 82 year old woman who's been eating pure carnivore for 65 years. She looks like she's 40 years old!!
Pure bullshit.
The thermic effect of protein is higher than carbohydrates and fats, but not enough to have any meaningful effect on weight. In some individuals, high protein can curb appetite and may not make you eat as much, but that's an entirely different thing.
Dr Meh didn't lose 100 pounds by eating the same amount of calories when he switched to carnivore. He's expending more calories by exercising, and he's eating less by skipping breakfast everyday and all of that is encouraging him to e
That's incorrect. I lost over 150 pounds eating a pure carnivore diet consisting of about a pound of meat, 4 eggs and 4 bacon strips per day with a few slices of cheese as well as almost a stick of butter and a teaspoon of Cetlic sea salt. I never exercised and I eat only one meal per day. I went from a size 44 pants (which were stretchable so the actual size was much bigger) to a 34 in about a year and a half. I never felt as good as I do now, and it still gets better, to my surprise, year after year.

Answer this question: if you eat one meal a day, 3K calories, will you lose weight because you don't eat for 20 hours a day despite your maintenance calories being 2000?
And yes, the most important assumption was correct:
Which you confirmed by stating you've lost 36 pounds in two months and still have weight to lose. But congrats on the weight loss. Losing over 4 pounds a week proves that once someone is committed to eating less food, eating less food is pretty easy to do.
But it should also be obvious that starving yourself drops weight and has nothing to do with carnivore or any other type of diet. As usual, the laws of thermodynamics win again and the Fungs and Bergs of the world will continue to get wealthy off people who don't want to accept that they overeat and are looking to blame foods they eat instead of the amount of foods they eat.
And yes, someone like me can eat enough broccoli to gain weight if I so chose to because my GI has acclimated to consuming high quantities of raffinose so it wouldn't bother me.

Cool, brah. You lost 150 pounds eating 1800-2200 calories per day. Now tell us what you were eating in a day when you were over 300 pounds?
Congratulations on the weight loss, though, irrespective of the reason being that you shut out 20-22 hours of possible time to eat each day and ate far, far fewer calories than you were previously consuming.

I was eating a keto diet, which included salads, spinich, a lot of deli meats and a quart of almond milk daily, some "keto" yogurt, and other keto friendly foods like a quart o keto ice cream per day which included a few grams of actual suger.
Foods and snacks labeled as "keto friendly" is a complete and total scam. Keto refers to eating a very low number of carbs each day, usually under 20 grams. So if your're following a keto diet, you're literally allowed to eat 3 oreo cookies per day, as long as you don't eat any more carbs. So that would literally make oreo cookies keto friendly, and they should be allowed to say "keto friendly" on the box as long as there's a disclamer saying "as long as you only have 3 and follow a keto diet of 20 grams of "net carbs" max per day).
I miss eating the ice cream every night especially the salted caramel one but I was consuming actual sugar, grains, and lots of other chemicals and processed foods which are all horrible for our bodies. I was going down a few pounds, up one, down 3, up 4, very slowly for years of counting every carb I ate per day. When I went on pure carnivore it was like night and day with regards to weight loss but it included added energy and eventually feeling as good as I did when I was about 5 years old.
Answer this question: if you eat one meal a day, 3K calories, will you lose weight because you don't eat for 20 hours a day despite your maintenance calories being 2000?
Yes, that's possible.
A gramm of protein, first of all, would roughly be 3.4 calories per gramm on average, not 4 (if you wanna use that 200yo inacurate concept).
L-carnitin, for example, is never used as fuel at all. There are many different thermogenetic effects for specific amino-acids, just like that one.
Eating the right fats (especially without carbs) causes a lot of positive hormonal effects that change your metabolic processes drastically, hence why those 9 calories per gramm are wildly inacurate.
If you overeat some kinds of fats, your body can decide to not use them as energy, and simply poop them out, which is very obvious when you can see peanuts in your stool, for example. Same with animal fats, but not as easy to see.
And on top of that, fibres do have calories, but quite a few of them are insoluble fibres which your body cant break down to produce energy.
And so but anyway
You surely can gain weight only eating broccoli... If you are so sure about that, let's make it a huge prop bet for just two weeks, where you need to gain just 2kg only eating broccoli and drinking water in a controlled environment. You dont need to do sport, or any movement at all. I, for one, would be happy to bet up to $100k that you cant, and surely can get way more than that, if you want more action.
I'd offer to spend two weeks on a diet of 1000 calories more than my maintenace is, under same conditions, promising to lose 2kg, if i can pick the foods i eat. But not for less than a $10k bet.
Put your money where your mouth is.
Here is Anthony Chaffee MD with "you've been lied to about calories and nutrition":

Yes, that's possible.

I see... so we have one guy who lost over 150 pounds eating once per day; one guy who lost 36 pounds in two months eating once per day, and one guy who lost 100 pounds eating twice a day, and the reason is because protein has 15% fewer calories than billed due to TEF?

Ah, and the cherry on top with the fake prop bet offers. Very nice!
And you can secure more action, to boot: "Hey, guys, I have this dumb American that thinks he can gain 2kg only eating broccoli for two weeks, but I can only afford $100K. Can you spot me some more action?"
Listen up, I can gain 2kg eating broccoli in one sitting. I mean, you really didn't think that one through when you slammed your e-peen on your keyboard, eh?
Let's bet on it, my offer isnt fake.
To make it more fun, we can combine the two bets i offered.
We both risk $10k, and only if you fail to gain +2kg on Broccoli only over 2 weeks, and i manage to lose more than 2kg on 1000 calories more than my maintenace with all options of food available (but no physical activity) in 2 weeks, i get your 10k.
If you'd gain +2kg, and i'd lose less than 2kg, you'd get my 10k.
Your only chance for your site of the bet is getting massive constipation, hence why i said two weeks, not just over a weekend or so. It might kill you, tho.
My site of the bet is a lock. You yourself said chew your food better... Never seen full metal jacket? ("Eat the peanuts outta my ****").
I can just swallow 1000 calories of nuts without chewing. Aint nothing but a peanut...
And that's the bottom line regarding CICO.
In before "you guys should get a room", which would obviously be perfect, if you like playing heads up poker and prop bets, mister Land O Lakes, sir. I'd play any variant you want, for the whole two weeks...
Of course you can eat 2kg of Broccoli today, hence gain 2kg for the moment.
It's a totally different thing to eat it for two weeks exclusively, and gain 2kg of bodyweight.
You didnt think that one through, eh?
Let's bet on it, my offer isnt fake.

too bright, not to... Care to explain?

Did you also never see corn in your poop, mister Land O Lakes?
So you gained over 150 pounds from eating keto for 20 or so years? Basically, since you were 5-years-old up until just a few years ago, what did you eat, and more importantly how much did you eat, to become over 300 pounds?
I ate the standard american diet, usually 2 to 3 meals per day with snacks in between.
Gaining weight is easy, but losing it could be just as easy if you stick to a pure carnivore way of eating. I know it might sound radical, especially since people have been brainwashed to think they need x servings of vegetables per day and x servings of grains and fruits per day, and "low fat" and "low salt", but unfortunately that was all very sadly incorrect (including the "food pyramid").
Happy to escrow the 200k for you guys.

Yeah, bro, so you used to overeat because you were grazing all day long. Losing or maintaining weight is easy if you don't overeat. That takes discipline for people with prior overeating tendencies, and so you now eat once a day.
If it takes you eating a pig's ass each night to not overeat, then more power to ya. Not sure if the future health risks are worth it, but it's probably healthier than weighing over 3 bills.
I doubt that 20 years from now you'll be on a OMAD carnivore diet, though. Just doesn't seem sustainable for people who have had a decades-long history of overeating on calorie dense foods, but I could of course be wrong and wish you the best of luck in any case.
Well, not surprising, once called out on his bullshit, he responded with the typical ego-damaged, "HU4ROLLZ! You pick the game" challenge, proving once again that glucose is necessary for proper brain function.
Not sure if the future health risks are worth it, but it's probably healthier than weighing over 3 bills.
What future health risks are you referring to? Can you ellaberat on them?

I think you're confused about this WOE. It's not a "diet", you can overeat every day if you want, it won't affect your results. There are people I've seen eat a dozen eggs and 2.5 pounds of meat every day. You can eat until you're full, and you'll never get "hungry" in between meals. I'm never hungry at meal time but it's still nice to enjoy a fresh ham egg and cheese omlett with a half pound of thinly sliced roast beef as an appatizer, and I picked up some corned beef from pastrami grill (a hidden jem in nnj) which is more than enough for me for one day. My pint of "keto" ice cream is now replaced with a hot chocolate at night (ancient nutritian's chocolate flavored bone broth with added inositol powder for sweetness).
I'm never going back to eating processed food, sugar, chemicals, flour, plants or grains. I might probalby start adding some fruite and berries like Dr. Saladino now does but this is the greatest thing anyone can do for not only their health but most importantly for their total well being. If you wish to be healthier and feel better (whether you're over wieght or not) don't eat plants, sugar, processed foods, grains or seed oils or anything else besides meat, fish, chicken, eggs, turkey, bacon, cheese, cream, coffee, tea, and water and take your electrolytes daily which is salt, magnesium, and potasium.
Well, not surprising, once called out on his bullshit, he responded with the typical ego-damaged, "HU4ROLLZ! You pick the game" challenge, proving once again that glucose is necessary for proper brain function.
Called out on what?
You didnt counter a single argument i made, dodged the prop bet, and most likely cant play a single variant of poker properly.
It was not hu4rolls, it was meant to spend the two weeks time during the propbet in one room, aka controlled environment.
And it was a joke, because we both know you'd never take the bet, obviously, because you are a joke.
You have been wrong with everything you said ITT, because you somehow hate people following a species appropriate diet succesfully... Why?
Yeah, not touching that one, lol.
I think you're confused about this WOE. It's not a "diet", you can overeat every day if you want, it won't affect your results.
I see, so a 150 pound person can eat 5,000 calories of meat each day and will not gain any weight? Defying the laws of thermodynamics... straight magic.
Of course it's a diet. What you eat each day is your diet. Your connotation of the word diet comes from you being overweight most of your life and trying to lose weight.
There are people I've seen eat a dozen eggs and 2.5 pounds of meat every day. You can eat until you're full, and you'll never get "hungry" in between meals.
They must be quite hungry to want to eat 2.5 pounds of meat and 12 eggs. But if the cut is super lean, then that's like 2600 calories in total per day.
I'm never going back to eating processed food, sugar, chemicals, flour, plants or grains. I don't think it's possible for me to feel better or be healthier. I'm glad it works for you, though.
Why would you want to add in poisonous foods such as tasty fruits? Fruit today, vegetable tomorrow, and before you know it, total anarchy.
Called out on what?
