There might be more american posters but USA policies have nothing to do with forum policies .

There have always been a large number of non-U.S. posters as far as I know.
I'm not a mod, but that was my understanding of the rules. There might be exceptions for willing combatants, no idea, I don't go in those threads.

While I did semi-jokingly suggest that such posts would give the FBI more work, I wasn't really saying that was the reason. You take everything so literally.

you may have been joking because you didn't know how it worked, but authorities would 100% at least do a brief lurk and read over an online forum that was repeatedly posting about killing the president - they would be doing that even without an actual shooting attempt

I feel as though there's some misunderstanding. You said that we stopped the wishing Trump died talk just because it would bring in the FBI, not because we thought such talk was bad. The reality is that both were factors in the decision to some degree. You seem to be trying to make me commit to just one reason or the other.

thank you, i agree it's a possibility he initially posted not to attack but rather because he wanted to acknowledge that there were other factors, but the needless and groundless "you take everything literally" is basically an attempt at gaslighting and calling me stupid, implying only an idiot would have interpreted it that way, only to later concede that it was indeed a factor (in addition to a stated reason itt) was just over the top and unnecessary
