While out climbing today, we decided to start looking for some spots that might not have been discovered yet by climbers (hard to do where I am). Managed to make my way to the top of this wall that look to be more frequented by locals looking to get drunk and found evidence that other climbers had definitely been there...but no way just some drunk local got up there. Found a gift card sitting on a rock, definitely not lost or dropped. Purposefully put there. Looked up the balance and proud to say I'm now $33.61 richer! Not my best score while out climbing, but definitely my most surprising.

About three years ago a buddy randomly hit me up on a sunday night saying he wanted me to go out the next day with him to basically scour a highly popular crag near me (known partly for the amount of beginners that go there and flail about), for gear left on the wall from the weekend. The best score of the day was coming across a route where people bailed on about $200 of gear over 300 foot of rock. We had to climb an adjacent route and rappel down this route to get it. I even posted about all over climbing forums, and nobody claimed it. Then on our way out I spotted about $150 worth of absolutely brand new gear that some other group (hopefully not the same group from the previous score gave up, for their sake) bailed on in the most ridiculous way. Absolutely no need to rappel from where they were. Easily climbed up and downclimbed to retrieve it, and even if you were to rappel there you didn't need all this. He kept what he retrieved and I kept what I did. Photo of what I got:

Today, my son rented his first car. He didn't realize headlights need to be turned on. He was wondering why everything was so dark. And why were people flashing their lights at him.

All the cars he ever knew had Automatic headlights. oops, lolol I guess, all's well that ends well.
