Bit worried about the rake skyrocketing too, having played a bunch of GGpoker in the past at least the games are softer then stars/ACR/etc. but there is an influx of Asian countries making the games soft which NV won’t have.

Has anyone else been experiencing a crazy amount of lag the last couple of days?

Nope - game is fine for me, 0 lag.

Oh, my apologies I misinterpreted that.

I saw the news on Caesars selling the WSOP brand. It looks like caesars will still be running wsop.com from the press release though? Honestly I'm a bit concerned about GG's influence expanding to the USA since their rake is a blight on online poker.

Edit: For example GG poker's rake at 500NL is 5.58 bb/100 and 888 is 3.65 bb/100 according to this:

. Then WSOP has amazing rakeback system

One thing is the 5.58 value wasn't chosen arbitrarily, GG did years of research, data analysis, and simulations to determine 5.58 bb/100 is most likely to create a Poker ecosystem they envision. Paul likely doesn't want rakeback grinders who mass-table to get in 800k hands a year and scare off the whales, it's better if the site revolves around a more even distribution of top pros and whales.

Now, in the U.S. setting they may not choose a value of 5.58 since there's a different distribution of pros and whales. My guess is there's a divergence when you compare "the rate at which American pros beat American whales" versus "the rate at which European pros beat European whales" and they'll scale it using that metric, it'll probably eventually get to a number between 3.65 and 5.58.

Don’t think any of that is true, they are just trying to get max rake.
They even tried to make 25/50 unbeatable until all the regs boycotted and they had zero games running so had to revert.
5knl not a stake where you get mass volume rb grinders.

There is basically no reg battles on GG where as they happen everyday on ACR because GG rake is so big.

Are you unironically saying if the rake is higher its actually good for us? We're playing a game, and the house takes a cut to host the game. The higher the cut the harder it is to win.

Maybe there is a theoretical slightly losing fish at -5bb/100 who benefits from this. But solid pros have their winrates gutted, and rakeback / slightly above break even pros become losing players.

the best part is knowing that the company thinks paying DNEGS 6-7-8 figures is still a profitable business decision.... so they up the rake to pay his salary... meanwhile killing the poker dream for 99% of others who dont have a god run on the primedope variance simulator... . but hey at least he will stake you with that money he raked if you string together a few wins in the casino daily tournaments -- which are also raked at like 25% lol

reminds me of draftkings paying kevin hart to be in a commercial.... like we already heard of the company by now, and by having this expensive celebrity youre just telling me that youre a way too profitable operation. They actually think someone sees kevin hart and goes wow, you know what that is what is going to make me sign up.

or even worse is the athletes for subway... like how about a chef to shill the food ? i was gonna go chicken til i saw Trevor Lawrence recommend the BLT

I was discussing the business perspective. Of course the goal is collecting max rake, but this is never accomplished through blindly increasing %'s. If you remember the supply/demand graph from Economics 101, they can only increase profit through increasing rake % if the majority of the player pool won't leave or start playing way fewer hands. The cost of conducting any business went up astronomically in the last few years as well, so it's just a way harder art to make money these days. Below is a statistical analysis from a former Boy Scout camp counselor turned poker pro, GG's analysis was likely more involved:

ya id be saying the rake is necessary or expected when that new company now technically holds your 20-30k :P

heres a good video of a guy talking about how the 5k and 1k nl regs are all losing pre rakeback. Obviously tough player pools so idk if this should be surprising but still interesting how people got into poker to be your own boss, and its turned into an hourly rakeback grind while also maybe playing for a backer / boss lol

In the USA were still blessed to be able to play in soft low rake games. I'm winning at roughly 5bb/100 pre rakeback, if rake increased by 2.5bb/100 it would literally cut my income in half. Right now the poker dream is still alive and well, but GG's growth in the industry poses a real threat.

Really interesting video btw - I'm about halfway through atm waiting for tables 😃.

Anyone else have their Online Caesars Rewards balance reset recently? I know the levels are supposed to reset at the end of the month but my points also got reset, had ~$40 that I hadn't yet redeemed.

nice ya thats impressive doubt many can pull much larger than that over 250k hands. The main issue i meant about the poker dream is theres definitely a cap on what you can make. Anything above 2-5 barely runs enough for a sample size. Also, theres only so many winners /roi possible in the $109 10k gtd. Thinks getting slightly better now with the multistate but PA still being its own thing is kinda scary. Besides the fact of how long it took to get to this point + look at how many states got sports /casino but poker wasnt added along.

Thanks man, I have no clue about tourneys and the landscape for upcoming pros there. I am probably somewhere between break even and slightly losing in tourneys.

Unfortunately I'm not talking about this UI error - my online caesars rewards points went from like 3500 points to 60 without redeeming anything.

Update on this issue - if your wsop.com online account is linked to your Caesars Rewards card then your points will automatically be transferred over at the beginning of the month to your Caesars Rewards account. You can email support@wsop.com stating that you'd like to opt out of this, but otherwise this transfer will happen automatically each month.

Seems a bit ****ed that they're doing that without any warning, but their view is that I should have read through the entire terms and conditions of course... although I'm not even seeing anything about this in the T&C https://www.wsop.com/caesars-rewards/nv/

Please stick to your tournaments, we don’t need your opinions on how winning players can be paid less

youre saying you didnt want reward credits to buy the $20 casino hamburger??? lol and yea im not surprised but thanks for letting us know. God forbid they sent out a newsletter explaining the most common asked questions in support to lower the amount of requests they get

this reminds me of how theyve been. saying theres a coin shortage so they can collect 20 million in uncollected slot vouchers

Is this saying that if we don't redeem our points for cash at the end of each month that they will automatically transfer to near worthless Caesars rewards?

Okay so I got my account back as of yesterday morning. They added a free spin to my account but did not issue any apology or additional details of what happened. I'll let you guys know how they rigged the free spin and doomswitched my account later.

That's what customer service said happened to my points. TBD on whether I'm able to get them to reverse that transfer.

it didnt happen to me but im not saying it didnt happen or wont. Originally i was using them for MTT tickets but now that theres less $100/$215 stuff i want to play i was saving mine to use for cash rake back to do once i cleared deposit bonuses.

very silly that theyre locked into certain buyin mtt tickets, and arent just MTT dollars

for anyone interested in what MTT tickets are better value. I originally thought the $215 because the rake was less. But if you bought $4300 of each, youd pay $90 less in rake in the $215 however the $100 tickets would have 13,000 left which is worth $130 of the playthru cash game rakeback. Another small point would be your ROI is probably better in the $100s.

same thing happened to me. support ended up transfering them back into my account.
