makes sense, he was a really good volleyballer in high school

In volleyball, he led his school to three state championships and was named by Volleyball Magazine as the National Player of the Year as a senior.

should have done both in college, but i guess he decided to focus on hoops

Turned on the TV and Chase Budinger is out there crushing beach volleyball

I wonder what other nba athletes could make another Olympic sport.

Volleyball is definitely close to basketball in the sense that if you're tall and can jump then you have a natural advantage.

#1 seed baby. Accept no substitutes

Anyone see Curry has some show coming to peacock?

it actually sounds like a decent storyline, then again I watched every ep of Ballers

I've always thought the way to solve the NBA All Star Game dilemma is to shelve it completely and replace it with a 3x3 tournament where the winning team gets $1M per player and $1m to the charity of their choosing. This way there's a real incentive to win the event and it's great for the community as well.

You could even extend the charity aspect and have each participant guaranteed $100K to the charity of their choosing and the runner ups get $250K to the charity of their choosing.

I'd say two wings (PG/SG/SF = wing) and one big per team (PF/C).

Logistics would be needed to work out the idea regarding number of players to select for the new ASG format / rounds / rules / etc. Maybe you could make it everyone plays everyone and do double elimination? Just an idea. I know players would hate "risking injury" in a mostly meaningless event (as only the winning team gets $1m per player and players probably don't even care about charity enough to risk injury) but it would make the ASG Great Again and the fans would absolutely love it.

But this is exactly how you save the ASG from the complete basketball atrocity it has become in this day and age.

Just replace it with the rising stars game as the main event

I want to see Simone do an alley-oop dunk with her head up there over 12 feet. Would be unreal. Set up a temp hoop on the mat and lets's see it. MJ and LeBron would be small potatoes compared to that.

I'd

No amount of money (except obscene amount ) can bring anything if they can’t be just motivated by proud among their peers , for the fans , to show who’s best .

If they can’t even understand that , and be motivated by that (not mentioning the add equity it could bring on their bottom line with sponsorship I suppose) , just scratch it all together imo .
Maybe just add some 2-3 contest like the one they already have like 3pts shooting and dunks .
Games aren’t necessary anymore.
U need pride to play games.

Maybe they would just need to build half team with present stars (making it harder for those who really wants to be in the alll stars games) and the other half with past stars ( that would love to go against them and show who’s best for fun 😀 .
Probably not 60+ years guy but surely some in the range of 40-50 would love too .
Maybe that would motivate some present star to play and not to get own by past players on national tv .

How would it be competitive? A G-League team could beat the guys ages 40-50.

im not saying a team full nba vs full retirees.
each team composed by half of retirees.

Australia Patty Mills or 2012 Lebron, who you got if you were to start a franchise

More like LOL Canada amirite.

More like LOL Canada amirite.

Pretty much.

Apparently it was a disaster from Murray. Olympic losing plays.

And Denver might have to pay him all the money.

Which they shouldn't.

Trade him! Dont pay him the full amount.

Murray peaked in the Bubble

I don’t get the Olympics.

RJ Barrett played like he’s All-NBA.
Schroder is playing like he’s the best point guard in the entire Olympics.
Fournier goes from virtually unplayable in the NBA to superstar.

France has made the Finals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eat **** Germany!
