To elaborate, I tried creating a new thread more on topic a while back, but it was deleted because there already was the trans thread. It’s hypocritical to do that and then complain that posts are not on topic with the OP of the existing thread.
Think of it like court:
The judge doesn’t entertain lay opinions on subjects requiring expertise through education, training and practice. On complicated medical issues, a court does have to hear medical doctors’ opinions unless they practice I that specialized area. Most of the yahoos that want to express they think being trans is a mental illness have no medical qualifications whatsoever. Recitals of antidotal evidence as a basis for claimed expertise rarely passes the smell test nor does it here.
The court will hear certain lay opinions but for the most part want facts, not opinions, from lay people.
If you can’t keep the previously ruled upon lay opinion to yourself, go elsewhere or get banned. You won’t be missed.

I only see one expert in the thread- ganstaman. Lozen, Rroll and the banned internist certainly don’t qualify as experts and we don’t need to listen to their medical diagnosis of people’s mental status.
Someone needs to fix this thread title. Surely it would be more accurate that we need to RESCUE ganstaman from that "discussion".
Rescue the whole site by closing politics. Make it redirect to Unstuck or something whenever you try to visit.

Perhaps you could allow a separate thread in which people can debate whether or not trans is a mental illness, social contagion, etc. There are many legitimate theories regarding this and I think a lot of frustration people have is the inability to explore these things.
Yeah sure and while we're at I, let's also allow a thread to discuss white supremacy and the inferiority of women compared to men.
I recommend you find some right winged forums and sprout your garbage over there and leave 2+2 a better place tyvm
Remove mods from the politics forum. Make it a rule that if you want to be a poster in the politics forum, you are now contained to posting in that sub-forum alone. Let the crazy people run rampant in their own yard and eventually die out. You people are dumb, yet you all think you are super smart...you are not. **** you. The central purpose of having a Politics forum on 2+2 is to serve as a containment forum. It prevents unending tireless political posts ("discussion") from infesting other 2+2 forums.
