Venetian poker room changeup
Per a poker news article that just dropped, it sounds like a 50 table room with modern electronic equipped tables will be opening this summer on level 2. Will also have a dedicated room for streaming and vlogging.
Glad to see a casino expanding and upgrading their poker room in Vegas, especially after the Venetian has kept shrinking theirs every few years.

PokerAtlas is far superior to Bravo. It's actually insane it took so long for this type of software to start pervading into the game. Wynn, Venetian, Thunder Valley, Texas rooms, Playground are all on it. Hopefully WSOP follows suit.

How do they know who you are when you table change? Do you have to give them your players card when you get to your new seat?
Another thing about Bravo I don’t like is it will often show zero players on the waiting lists. You call in, thinking you might be first on the list, walk in half an hour later and find that a few call-ins are ahead of you.
Rooms used to not do this. But now when you check Bravo in Vegas, some of the rooms won’t list the call-ins.
It’s a little annoying, and another reason I prefer Poker Atlas.

Definitely not like that here. But I have heard complaints both ways. It seems this is something each room can choose. So not really a Bravo issue. If it bothers you ask the room to go back to old way

My room has Bravo. After someone checks in, after a few minutes they are boosted ahead of all the call-ins.

It is not a Bravo issue in LV. It simply is not a Bravo issue. Just because the rooms have chosen to implement that way does not make it a Bravo issue. Heck, maybe you identified why they won’t switch to PA. Until PA gives them this option they will refuse to switch.
perhaps rooms are getting some incentives to use Atlas... I think so.
I was being facetious as I don’t think this feature would drive the decision. I agree PA is either providing incentives or is simply that much less.
Being a little cheaper, might be enough to influence initial selection. But to convert one to the other is not cheap. Thus it takes more incentive than a slight price advantage to get a room to change.
1.) Fix the cage. Anytime you're dealing with amounts around $2,000 or yellow chips, the cashier needs to type up a report on you and it takes forever. Go study everything the Wynn poker cage does (including not having to hand count bills in front of customer), copy it, and enjoy all the time and money you save.
2.) Cell signal is awful. Fix wifi so that you don't need an e-mail and make it faster than 6mbps.
3.) Make $3/5 NL+ 8 handed; raise the minimum to $400.
4.) Turn off the music.
5.) Allow 90 to 120 minutes for Poker Atlas waitlist instead of 60 min.

Venetian parking garage could be a nightmare trying to get out sometimes and it was still a long walk to the poker room.
Palazzo (if you know where to park) is awesome. I have upgraded card for free parking but even if you don't I think it's 3 hours of poker to get it free for the day.

Number 2. Your exactly the guy I don't want at my table. I show up to donate some cash, drink some beer, have fun and play poker with people that aren't buried in their phone unless they have a top 5% starting hand.
Would be perfect if they blocked wifi and cell service altogether.

When I was still working, if I was going to be without cell service for significant time, I had to arrange backup coverage or provide alternate contact method, generally landline or pager (when I still had one).
I wouldn’t care about the speed too much, but need to be reachable 24x7. Remove all cell access and I go elsewhere.
Why because you know they are filing a CTR? Or because of the time?
As to Wynn not counting cash in front of me, not going to really save time. Because I am definitely going to carefully count standing right there. If I witness them counting and nothing jumps out, I may only do a quick check at the window and then full count off to the side. But they don’t count means I am, including aligning all the bills.

I don't care about CTRs but I'm not gonna sit there for 5 or 10 minutes to cash out a few thousand dollars. And of course you'll be online for longer than you should if they're doing it for a lot of people.

At Wynn cashier throws the cash into the machine and tells you to look at the screen. It counts 5k in about two seconds instead of the hand count of ~30 seconds depending on the human and her mood. Whenever I get hand count I try to look away it's just too unbearable wasting our time.
As for them typing up a report at Venetian. It could take up to five minutes because sometimes they need supervisors to come over to verify what game you're in or playing. It's friggin brutal.
