There’s a new Jurassic Park coming. Perhaps they will introduce a new one

it's a slow sports night so I have been watching NY-LA for a few minutes.

38-10 NY 2nd qtr. 👍 quality entertainment

I'm not sure LA could beat a 16 seed NCAA women's team, they look horrendous.

LA was projected to be the worst team. And lost all their centers before tonight. Brink torn ACL, Lexie Brown out with Crohn’s, Aari McDonald must have hurt herself over the break, and Stephanie Talbot caught the Olympic fever

They would beat any college team by 30

Brink tore her ACL but continues to break hearts across the nation.

I'll bet McLovin's entire life savings that the LA team I saw tonight couldn't beat any of the recent top college teams by 30+ pts.

sigh, I forgot about this.

A month off ain't **** for CC

A month off ain't **** for CC

Forget about ROY, she's the ****ing MVP!

aja is clearly, unanimously mvp. if Caitlin could have a second half strong enough to take that away, it would be insane.

I think it's possible. very unlikely, but she is that good.

filthy lines:

rookie of the year: 70%

MVP: 2%

and I'm only giving her 70% ROY, cuz I'm probably biased angel Reese fan. angel is really good though. avg something like 18.8 rebounds per 48 minutes.

CC has a higher EFF than angel per game. angel has higher EFF per 48 minutes.

and I know they play 40 minutes, but the ESPN stats only do per 48 minutes

With respect to Reese, it's significantly easier to get double doubles in a league like the WNBA, with its poorer shooting, by being a big.

CC meanwhile, has 10 DDs so far this year, and the WNBA record for any guard, rookie or not, is 11.

yeah and CC's EFF is lower cuz a lot of her passes are too good, and her teammates can't handle them, and they become turn overs when they should be assists.

she does turn the ball over too much though, even if her teammates could handle all her passes.

what's the deal with chennedy Carter? is she benched cuz of a twitter rant? or did she get injured?

I saw there was some kind of twitter drama, but I didn't really get it

I only caught the fourth quarter last night but I thought the Fever's ball movement was significantly improved*. Several nice assists and passes that lead to assisted buckets by CC.

* improved over early in the season

I'm watching Fever vs whoever they're playing since my sister and her family are at the game. This is hard to watch.

it's pretty impressing that 20kish people show up at every Indiana game, when their record is 12-15

Pacers 200% missing opportunity to not have any kind of standardbred on logo

Kaitlyn should have like 7 assists and I think only has one.

Make that 2.

If I lived there I'd go to a game or two.

hahaha girl on Indiana got shot blocked from half court at end of first half after she dribbled right at the defender

CC is definitely in my top 5 of basketball players I enjoy watching. Men included!

CC (thx McLovin) just did one of those NBA 5 step foot shuffles and got called for travelling and was befuddled.

sucks the WNBA limits are so low, even this year, I could've retired early off of CC.

Her absolutely shredding after the Olympic break was the biggest lock of all time

She went from the a full college season where she played all the way to the title game carrying the entire load and the biggest spotlight in the history of the sport, immediately into the draft and an insane amount of publicity stuff then immediately into her rookie season where they played 11 games in 19 days or something and started 2-9.

They finally got 4 days off and she came back and had 30 6 and 8

The next time they got 4 days off she had 19 13 and 12 against the Liberty

She's barely gotten to take a break and the team has barely had any practices together. Coming back on fire after the Olympic break was the biggest lock ever

nice one GB

too bad I didn't think to bet it myself. I actually had the same thought, but just didn't think to bet it. I'm not used to betting on sports

also betting against the Olympians when they got back from Paris was probably good

I would have also bet on angel Reese and chennedy Carter after their rest, but Chicago sky have sucked.

Reese and chen played well enough, but the team underperformed

CC is first team all-wnba, the initial schedule was brutal and it took a bit of time to catch stride but watching that game she was easily the best player on the court and the Storm are a solid team.

They get to dump Wheeler's contract, hopefully move on from Smith, get a Free Agent and they will be title contending despite a near useless coach.

Mitchell likes to play iso in the half court, and she's pretty good at it, but it's totally antithetical to how you'd build a team around CC. Just from watching the games and projecting and watching her facial expressions, it does seem like early in the season she resented the attention that CC was getting and was determined to do her own thing and show that she should be the primary option, and then as the season has worn on and CC has developed into a assist juggernaut, she's started to run a little bit more and embrace playing off the ball and getting non stop dimes and getting open shots from CC drawing insane number of doubles.

Wheeler hasn't been great, Smith has been just ok.

I think Fagbenle is injured again, from what I saw earlier in the season, she had the best synergy with CC out of anyone - she loves running the floor and was a pretty decent finisher. Would love to see more minutes when she's healthy

But yeah, you just need to build the entire team around CC. Players that can run the floor, finish layups on the run (which, no offense, is like an actual marketable skill in the WNBA) and hit open 3s and defend.
