Trooper97 vlogs, discussions etc. will be allowed to continue in the new thread. That thread will not be unchained and I will work with the other LVL mods to keep it civil.
I personally am not going to allow a lot of the horrible posting that went on in the original thread to take place and I will be very generous with post deletions and bans if needed.
Posts the are overly derogatory, mean spirited, name calling (including using rude derivatives of names) , and demeaning posts towards any of the vloggers or posters in the thread will be deleted at the mods discretion. If any accounts persistently do this they will be banned or exiled from posting in this thread. In these cases we may issue a warning first.
Accounts that are used only to or substantially to troll post in this thread will be banned.
No personal family information or situations allowed in the thread.

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Because of the I-40 trucking schedules, the Kingman Motel 6 lets guests check in at 6 am so ELD could theoretically only spend $60 for a Kingman Motel 6 room and be good from Saturday 6 am to Sunday 11 am and make his way back with a full tank of $3 gas to Harrahs by 1 pm Sunday.

and before i get accused of going through his post history, i always type in "las vegas" in chrome and it gives me 3 pages suggested and for some reason it's always on older pages on this thread which i just clicked and saw these posts.

gotcha, i do vaguely recall that now, at the time i chalked it up to "he probably only played home games and didn't have much a of sample or anything tracked"
perhaps i gave him too much credit thinking there's no way i would personally move to vegas to play poker if i wasn't already doing somewhat well at it back home so didn't think anyone else would do something as irrational as to move to vegas to pursue poker as a career if they were an overall loser in the game

There's an awful lot of projection here. The idea that James Urbanic has anything in common with a successful Indian doctor or engineer on a gambling excursion in Macau is far-fetched, to say the least. We're talking about someone who never went to college, had a hard time holding down a job on account of anxiety and Tourette's, and lived with his parents until he was 25. According to his origin story video,
he had some experience playing online, but he doesn't mention any home or private games. He made one visit to Vegas with a friend in 2019 and quickly lost his $4,000 roll (which included some rent money). Then he got a job in a call center for a few months. Then he moved back in with his parents and got a job as a software developer, which he kept for 6 months until the lockdowns hit and he got laid off. Then he collected unemployment. You may recall how unemployment benefits were amplified and extended during COVID. When he moved to Vegas in 2021, he was likely still collecting government checks as he mentions unemployment as a source of "passive income" several times in this video.
He describes himself as an "early investor" in Bitcoin but has never revealed how much he owns or at what price he bought it (nor should he). Does he own 0.2, 2, or 20 BTC? The difference is obviously huge. But I can say this: as a crypto investor myself, I try to keep up with news and analysis, and James has never said anything about Bitcoin to make me think he is anything but a dilettante.
He's mentioned working with coaches numerous times, but as far as I'm aware, he's never named them or given any details on their arrangements. I was surprised that he not did mention coaches or coaching in his most recent video showing his horrendous graph. Make of that what you will.

As anyone with any experience knows, these formats are all very different. It might've been wiser to pick one and try to master it instead of hopping all over the place.
He often set ambitious goals for himself, like his recent $1,000 to $100,000 challenge or the tourney package you backed him for, but then dropped out when things didn't immediately go his way. And he lost $10K in the pits, made sports bets, made prop bets, played in streamed games at stakes much higher than what he normally played (or was rolled for), challenged his critics to play heads-up, spent a lot of time playing video games on Twitch, etc. It was almost as if he was cosplaying at being Doug Polk.
I hope he can keep a job in the industry and that he continues to enjoy playing poker as a hobby. And if showing that graph to the world helps him to see himself more clearly, good for him.
