Seven Stud Rules Question - Bring-In
I searched and couldn't find the answer --
I've been playing seven stud in home games for over 2 decades (among many other games) and I always thought that the player bringing-in did not have the option to re-open if his/her bet was completed. Is this true, or is the action re-opened for the bring-in player if someone completes?

I haven't played this in a casino in more than 40 years, so I can't say I know for sure. In our home game, I don't think this ever came up - if the bring-in wanted to raise they probably would have completed in the first place. That being said, I looked at Robert's Rules of Poker. It does not directly address this, but it does say that if someone completes, it is not considered a raise. Based on that, when it comes around to the bring-in, I would think he could only call. If it is completed, and then raised - I am sure that the bring-in would have the chance to re-raise.
Does this come up often? Or at all? I think to get a definitive answer you'll need to have an experienced dealer chime in.
100 percent can reraise
The reason I ask is that I have been taking upswings mix game course, and I am loving it, but we got to the stud section and the guy is talking about after you bring in, flatting a raise or sometimes re-raising a raise. I really thought the action was closed, but I guess not.
So since I didn't really get a definitive answer here - or rather I got two different answers - I went on PS play chips and played until I got the final answer - so yes, I've been playing the game wrong all these years. Not that it came up very often, but I can dimly recall that it did happen - and that I told people the action was closed. I presume this rule also applies to Razz and Stud8 variants.
That bit of RROP may be vaguely worded, but it is likely meaning that the completion doesn't count as one of the maximum bets per round, not that it doesn't reopen the betting for the bring in.
Every place I've ever played stud, when someone competes, the bring-in has all 3 options available, fold/call/reraise.

Just a caveat, I am not a stud expert and most if my public stud experience is two decades old so things might have changed.
That said, every stud game I have ever played in in a public cardroom, if a player just brings it in for thr minimum and it is later completed, the bring in has all 3 options available to them when action gets back to them. They should be able to reraise. I have found that to be universal.
That said, stud is a weird game and has the most "house rules" of any poker game, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a game (or even region) where the rules are different.
