I don't believe in a deity... but I always find myself praying to them for help or guidance.
Human Beings are predisposed to Ritualized Thinking.

Ok, next. Is it possible to be disconnected from reality?

What do you mean?

What do you mean?

divorced from reality. delusional. detached from reality. living in a dream. lost in a fantasy world.

Yes, it’s possible to have a false view of reality, to believe things without reasonable evidence. One can argue that is exactly what religion is.

To be disconnected from reality — does it afflict people at random? Or can you act in ways which causes it to happen?

In other words, can you act in ways which cause you to be more (or less) in accordance with reality?

You can require reasonable evidence before accepting claims. Even the vast majority of religious people already do this in almost all areas other than their faith.

Is this a yes? Have you lost track of the discussion?

Are you not able to see how I’m linking the connection between action and reality? And then since you already agreed to the connection between truth and reality, how I’m going to link action to truth?

Errors aren’t true or false. Neither are actions. Logical statements are. You need to learn this.

Care to reconsider this statement?

I agreed people can be delusional.

Nope.

There is no “higher” truth only truth.

At least now you should know that I have good reasons for not taking your feedback.

Wherever you perceive truth to be at is where you are going to be aimed. If there is a better potential reality and you determine it to be a possibility for actualization, you should call this potential reality “truth” and hold yourself to it.

Once you do this, each moment you lose yourself in the present reality becomes a failure.

Truth is reality as it is, not as it could potentially be.

If you determine there is a better “potential” reality that is possibly to be actualized, calling it reality or truth is just self delusion.

Of course I frustrate you because your every post is an attempt to avoid reality and truth and invent a false reality you prefer, and I call you out every time.

Life improves exponentially more quickly using my definitions of truth. Tried and tested.

I don’t deny the truth of actualized reality; I simply call it a lower truth. You deny the truth of better potential realities.

Ultimately, quality of life is the highest measure of truth.

We’ve exchanged a massive amount of generalities, how about some specifics on what you tried and the results that convinced you. Maybe it will do same fir me?

“Reveal everything to me here in my rational comfort zone, and only then will I consider it.”

^ Some variation of the above is your default response to everything in this forum. Idk how many times I have to say — this isn’t how life works.

(1) Identify with self

(2) Become both a father and servant to self (“Your wish is my command but I reserve the right to lead you when necessary”)

(3) When you fail to deliver on your word to self, open yourself up to unexplored possibilities. Failure is not an option. A promise must be fulfilled.

You can’t demonstrate truth without evidence, it’s exactly how life works if you care about truth. If you don’t care, then you are free to live in a fantasy world.

1 is meaningless. We all identify “as” ourselves, unless we are schizophrenic.

2 is meaningless unless again you are a schizophrenic.

3 is just the same basic surface level advice many motivational systems give.

There have been studies that our brains aren’t singular, in the way that the process we call our consciousness is a collection of intelligent processes that all think they are us but work in concert. Basic examples include how we can talk and chew gum at same time, or engage in conversation (a massively resource intensive calculation process, esp when incorporating visual data of facial expressions of the people we are talking to) while doing other logical tasks.

But once in a while, like for schizophrenia, it appears they can break into two or more sets of processes that adopt their own individual unique selves. In theory this would explain how we may perceive we are talking to ourselves at tines, etc. And this hypothesis doesn’t require any supernatural being or powers. In fact we can explain all of our minds behavior without the supernatural .

If you were identified with the self, then you wouldn’t be disconnected from the sacred. You clearly have no sense of the sacred within.

That’s classic theist copium driven by the fact you can’t produce a scintilla of evidence or even a logical argument for your beliefs. They always resort to the personal experience card in the end, be they Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or whatever it is you believe. Weird that god gives such widely differing messages to so many based on the social environment they are in.
