hi guys in this spot, i was pretty sure he at least had a pair but when i saw the river i thoght i could mimic the king and bluff him, but i don't exactly know that was a wise
decision here. what do you think?

Javelin1918 made the open raise from UTG, not 3bet.

I also prefer to play without calls on free positions.
The results show that 3-betting is more profitable.
You are likelier to play HU instead of multi-pots and have the initiative on the flop when your opponent calls your 3bet.

If he has a premium hand, he likely won’t call, but instead 4-bet. In that case you can probably safely fold. If he calls, you are likely ahead or at least flipping vs something like TT or JJ. He probably also does not lead otf after a 3bet/call, and you can then check back for pot control or cbet with a much stronger perceived range than you have after flatting the open.
