2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
My builds look so much different now compared to when I first started drafting back in July. In a way, it's like I've doubled my chances of winning.
From 1.03
Goff, Baker
Jacobs, Ekeler, Chubb, Chandler, Braelon, Estime
Hill, Deebo, Pittman, Godwin, Diontae, Jamo, Burton, Malik, Kalif
Kincaid, Otton, Dulcich

Qb doesn’t look too strong with baker and Goff baker could get injured he has a history of it . WR room is great but rb could be hit or miss tremendously
And if baker doesn’t hit that’s a hit to your wide receiver room and tight end core
From the number two spot
Jayden Daniels, Russell Wilson
Tyjae spears, Austin ekeler,, perine , jaleel McLaughlin, Mitchell, foreman , Patterson
Chase, rice, worthy, terry, Thomas jr, doubs, LMC, malik Washington,
Kelce,likely, dulilch
I never worry about reaches but Kyren Williams 6th overall is something to scratch ya head at

Russ - no comment 😀
I think you waited too long on RB. Keaton Mitchell as your RB5 is ambitious. Definitely better plays at that point, and you could've still drafted Keaton towards the end of the draft. I get why you picked Patterson, but I don't trust a 33 year old RB3 to give you anything more than weekly zeroes.
I like the Rice/Worthy combo without Mahomes. Could be unique.
I'm a fan of Likely and Dulcich, but I don't like them together (same bye)

Lol I know your sentiments on Russ as mines on fields lol but I just took him because of value Keaton Mitchell was like literally the last back on the board when I took him he was surrounded by meh guys ..and the dulcich pick was pick by chance because Jordan Whittington was taken so I just pivoted over
Rice worthy and kelce was my dream trio and I finally did it albeit without patty but I love Daniel’s upside especially in kliff offense
Patterson I figure could give me some goal line vultures, few passes, kick returns and he could possibly have a higher role depending on Warren this year and the Steelers have no legit 2nd receiver I see a lot of players making up for that work including cordarell
DK has $3 and $5 contests but it looks like they're qualifiers to their live contest on Feb 9th.
$3 pays $36k + 1 ticket for 1st (20 max)
$5 pays $48k + 2 tickets for 1st (150 max)
1st in the live contest is $500k
I wonder if you can sell your live ticket.

If Rice/Worthy/Kelce blow up you are gonna need an elite Daniels season to compete with the Mahomes owners.
Keaton Mitchell is a nice late round guy if you can be patient.

I would not feel comfortable with Russ as my QB 2 but I know you like him so you do you. I like the Jayden/Ekeler/Terry/LMC stack.
It would be nice to have a little star power in your RB room. Patterson seems optimistic.
I love the TE's. I have a feeling Likely is gonna be on some winning lineups. If Dulcich stays healthy he will smash his ADP.

This QB room would could use the Fields upside. It's putting me to sleep just looking at it.
RB is good. You have guy's who can hit the lineup while Chubb heals.
WR) Very good. Jamo and Malik are great upside guy's to go with a solid 5 studs.
TE) Very good.

Doubs should have been an RB.
Did you take Perine in the 11th? If so, that should have been a different RB, then take Perine later.
Would have taken 3 QBs.

In the 11th I selected Jaleel, I coulda selected
Gus the 🚌
Nick Chubb
Zeke
Trey benson
Dobbins
Bucky Irving
Tyler allgeier
I felt Jaleel pass catching profile along with Bo box was more suitable as I went with majority pass catching backs

Agree with mong’s post above. Need another upside QB. Beside the limited upside profile of Goff/Baker, not having them with ARSB, Evans and/or LaPorta also isn’t ideal.

With kliff and his offensive happy system I thought Daniels may have an elite rookie season that could keep me in contention especially with the extra Wr and tight ends I was able to snag . Well that’s the thought

Jaleel is fine. Was just trying to figure out where you took Perine since he was listed third in the RB room.

Sorry I didn’t list those two in the proper place they were drafted, and trust me I throw up every time I look at the running backs I’ve drafted. I think it’s a way it could work out however just need some breaks my way
dont' try this at home (i was a little tilted from getting another 12th lol)

No worries! Just makes it easier for everyone to see how the draft went when listed in the order drafted.
The good news is no matter who wins, things need to break their way haha. It never feels good, but embracing risk and uncertainty is the way to go.
In an auction draft Wednesday where if everyone kept the keepers they were supposed to, only 1 1st rd pick would be available, but someone kept Mahomes for $30 over CMC for $60 and another person seemingly forgot they can keep Puka for $5, so now AJB, CMC, Puka are all available
I’m keeping Chase for $35 (god I hope he signs) and Rashee Rice for $1 (thought he was $5 but turns out only $1) and I start with more money than everyone else due to trades last year.
My plan is to go 4 1st rd picks + rice and see what happens, it’s 10tm.
Is that too aggressive?
My thought is something like
CMC - $80
Chase -$35 (keeper)
AJB - $45
Puka - $45
Rice - $1 (keeper)
That leaves me $69 for the rest of my team (starting with $275 out of $200 )
Seems good to me. Having Chase/Rice + more money than everyone else means being super aggro chasing the other available elites.
Then I’d chase some of the rookie RBs who have upside this year + could find themselves in a really good spot heading into next year like Brooks, Benson, Wright, Vidal, etc.
Also assuming rookie WRs will still be valued, so would smash them too. What do you think MHJ and Nabers will go for compared to AJB and Puka?
ETA: meant undervalued haha.

I think Nabers will go for over $30 bc everyone knows I like him haha, so they already said they’re nominating him first for $30 (they’ve seen my best ball exposures)
MHJ, not 100% sure. Bijan went for $55 last year, so I’d guess slightly less than that due to wr instead of rb, but likely a lot.
Rome is the one I’m most unsure of price. We’re all in Chicago for the most part, so he may go for more than other LGs
I’ve been drafting a ton of deebo the last few days and that scares the crap out of me .
I’m really into Deebo this year too and am also scared haha.
But him being in camp all summer, with great reports, makes me bullish he might be the top passing option. Even with the Aiyuk extension resolved.
I also think with the Trent Williams situation, plus a shaky line elsewhere, they’ll really prioritize getting him the ball quickly.

He just has so many meh games . But he can have some nuclear games too though .

I was just in a 12 man auction, $200 budget. Every league is diff obviously and I would not consider this a sharp league when it comes to aution strat by any means. I'm guessing because of the keepers, any available good players will go for more than market value. Some examples of a non keeper auction (3WR + Flex)
CMC = $62 (I will say in this league this is very close to the ceiling people like to spend. I know other leagues going higher is pretty standard.)
AJB = $52
Puka = $37
MHJ = $39
I think be prepared to spend more than your estimate budget.
