OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Diesel really thinks he's the smartest and most clever person in the world. He gets so happy and proud when people mention it like saying "he has a royal or better".

Don't forget that wise crack about the GDP of Italy. That one surely went over most people's head, a bit like all the obscure baseball references from his college days that only he and his law professors understood.

by Langdon k

second favorite part was ELD seeing his friend play slots, watching in agony as the cash drop from $55 to $20 (probably lower), losing $2.40 every three seconds, thinking about how many days of grinding poker just went up in smoke

His brain would melt if he saw me playing BJ today then. My average bet could pay for his housing for 2 months

How does this clown never go broke...

Its definately at Allegro at Wynn. I had the veal there it was very good when I did my $150 dinner credit ELD posted about for the tier match.

I've had Allegro several times and it's pretty meh. Honestly expected more the first time, tried a few other things but won't be going back.

Shocking news: El Diesel is fleeing Las Vegas because the games aren't nitty enough.

He will now only come out to Vegas from March Madness through end of August each year. Next up: Council Bluffs.

Also, if he'd have five days off from poker, he'd prefer a room in Harrah's Las Vegas than a free 5000 square foot home in South Beach.

Apparently he is already in Council Bluffs.

And LOL at considering staying in a strip casino for five days "living." He doesn't drink. He doesn't socialize. If he isn't playing poker he must be stuck in his hotel room. That's a horrible life.

Dude has such an ego he just expects to have a job again at Orleans. He probably will. I don't think it's a top three choice for a summer job in Vegas. He needs to make sure he is in LC by mid March. I think that is optimal timing for finding a dealing job. If he is smart he goes to Venetian and he can work BEFORE the summer. But he won't.

ELD reports from the top of Harrah's parking garage that he prefers Harrah's one bed hotel room to an entire house in Miami but the value of Las Vegas has decreased and he seeks to limit his stays to 5 months per year.

Absolutely hilarious to hear him list up the things "he doesent like" about poker in Las Vegas. Like he cant handle Mandalay going 8 handed, or Aria 1/3 max buyin being 500. Lmao. And just absolutely losing his shyt when losing 60 bb with AA at Red Rock in the infamous hand vs set of Q.

This is a full blown comedy show at this point (probably been for a good while).

El Diesel's perfect game:

12 handed
$200 max buyin
$.50/$1 blinds
34 Tier Credits an hour
$2 promo drop so he can score that promo $$$

He would stand out for all the wrong reasons in SB.

This was a reasonable and forseeable decision by Nomad, given the atrocity he endured recently at Red Rock with Aces.

Seriously the writing was on the wall, ever since Ceasars rescinded his 4 daily voucher drinks. As long as he had access to cheap hotel rooms and his beloved drink vouchers he would have happily stayed in Vegas. Even if it meant grinding promos/comps for $2 an hour for the rest of his days.

But it was almost impossible that he would even keep up diamond status with the dismal hours he has played this year so the jig was well and truly up for him in Vegas. It's time to head to greener pastures where he can play his dream 1/2 games with capped buy-ins and 10 handed super nitty line ups.

by pig4bill k

Pete's point went right over Diesel's head.

As did my dripping sarcasm. As it always does with the champ.

I could be wrong but... I bet chicken parm is offered at dozens of restaurants in Vegas. he doesn't have to go all the way to California to get it. kinda sad that that was all he really wanted

If you want a real treat, try the bone-in Veal Parm at Carbone.

At this point, Diesel is gonna start min buying a la TBC soon in Vegas to combat all those pesky uncapped and bigger max buy games and most places now being 1-3 instead of 1-2. Imagine how hard it will be to lose $300 when you're min buying $60-$100 at a time plus he won't be martingaling buy ins like Tony.

Diesel might go a whole year losing less than $300 in a session.

I mean seriously. How can he still call himself a poker pro? He can't even meet his metric of winning enough in poker to cover all his expenses anymore. I guarantee you he's cutting back from Vegas and probably playing overall cause he made all he needed for the year during the Orleans WSOP dealing job.

Diesel is the youngest OMC ever. Just complain complain complain about stuff that only affects him. I seriously doubt people sit down in terror at MGM with a $200 buy in cause the game is uncapped cause you know, there's this concept called effective stacks. I mean the bigger stacks are more likely to give action to the 100 big blind stack than not. The horror! Too much action for a huge 100 big blind stack that's being threatened every hand they play.

I guess we're not getting a series of videos on how to get to the Venetian poker room from different casinos? Or a video on how to go from the Venetian poker room to Allegiant Stadium?

The terror is palpable when they are told that it's an uncapped buyin! Classic Nomad projecting his own nitiness onto others.

But it shows how utterly clueless he is. If anything short stacks have an advantage in cash games with multiple deep stacked players because they get to realise their equity better, while one of the big stacks might end up forcing a fellow big stack to fold the (eventual) winning hand.

Didn’t Nomad say in a vlog last year that the only people that bought in huge at MGM were the types just waiting to get Aces vs Kings and nitted it up otherwise?

(I also say this as someone who ran Kings into Aces 2x in an orbit last year against different 5k stacks who hadn’t played a hand otherwise)

Nomad is only a pokerpro inside his own head, and its just a proof of his total lack of self reflection that he still calls himself a pokerpro. Just absolutely clueless.

But he'd prefer a free basement in NY more than anything else.

He's gonna pman it for a few years. He's hoping to inherit that house, I tell ya,

He won't even be able to get free parking status at CET. He'll be fine at Orleans though - free parking.

He's been doing the super-nit thing all wrong. He should be min-buying if he's going to nut peddle. I've heard many times at 1/2 "you don't have enough in your stack for me to call". That's what he should be looking for.

He might wean himself off youtube altogether. He won't need the $32 a month he was making when he's living in the parent's basement.

the game has passed by Diesel, he is now barely break even and he will move on.

Looks like he will quit trying to be a poker pro altogether if things don't work out in council bluffs.

I think he will genuinely have a wtf moment when he realizes that he's mid 30s and he has to now just work a normal job forever.

There's nothing wrong with being a dealer but I think he had a sense of pride of being able to tell people he played cards for a living and could live in vegas and not have a boss, now he has to accept the fact that he's going to be a lifetime dealer with capped earnings while all his former classmates are all making 6 figures+

This is going to be hard on his ego, I wondsr what mental gymnastics he'll come up with to decide that this was what he wanted all along and he's actually crushing it.

I'm now realizing alot of people gravitate towards the idea of becoming a poker pro because the alternative is admitting that they are actually below average and in alot of cases a loser. People like pman, bikeking, trooper, diesel and others.

He definitely will have the Orleans job if he wants it. And 9 months of making scraps at 1/3 nl will have him begging for it in June.
He worked basically every day at a job with a ton of turnover and had to at least be competent at it. For all the crap he rightfully gets, in a job with a lot of turnover there is a lot of value in that.

Lol@preferring a room in harrah's over a 5000 foot house in Miami. Especially as someone who doesn't do anything in Vegas besides play poker.

Not often i say this to you, but this is absolutely spot on and well written.

We had the same mental gymnastics going with the Trooper over and over, as he failed to be a professional pokerplayer wich was his original goal when moving to Vegas. Then he rewrote that story over again when he failed, lying to himself saying that he did not come to Vegas to live off playing poker yada yada yada.

This is the saddest, most pathetic video that I've seen since I started watching the Diesel.

He is giving up on his Vegas poker dream because:

  • Games are 8 handed instead of 10 handed so he can not uber nit it up as much (you are still playing 8 handed 1/2 lol)
  • MGM changed their buyin to uncapped (what a big change)
  • 1/2 games are becoming 1/3 and 2/3 (2/3 is literally the same with inflation as 1/2 a decade ago)

Dude is an Ivy League and law school grad who literally can't figure out how to beat the droolers at 1/2 after 5 years of playing, refuses to take any advice or coaching, and is now having to give up on the poker dream. Really, really, really sad story. With just a little bit of coaching he could keep up with the times and become a slightly winning 1/3 and 2/5 reg making like $25/hr which would be more than enough for him..
