I personally am not going to allow a lot of the horrible posting that went on in the original thread to take place and I will be very generous with post deletions and bans if needed.

Posts the are overly derogatory, mean spirited, name calling (including using rude derivatives of names) , and demeaning posts towards any of the vloggers or posters in the thread will be deleted at the mods discretion. If any accounts persistently do this they will be banned or exiled from posting in this thread. In these cases we may issue a warning first.

Accounts that are used only to or substantially to troll post in this thread will be banned.

Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. But he'd prefer a free basement in NY more than anything else.

He's gonna pman it for a few years. He's hoping to inherit that house, I tell ya,

This is such a classic loser move.

They move home and tell everyone they're taking care of their elderly parents, meanwhile they're getting their mom to do their laundry and cook their meals and clean their room and all they have on their mind is the inheritance.

Then when they get an inheritance and have siblings they argue they should get more because they've been taking care of them.

Classic loser scumbag moves.

As someone who has gone down this path - go read Vegas left me a broken man - I will defend Diesel here.

I mean is a baseball player who never makes it above Double A a failure? Of course not. There are limited spots available and not everyone can make it. Yes it is easier to "make it" at $1/$2 than to MLB.

Yes we have an ego when we try to make it as a poker pro. We have people who are rooting for us to make it - and those who take joy in seeing us fail.

Yes, we sometimes have to come to the realization that "it's a hard way to make an easy living,"

Hopefully he goes to Council Bluffs and can turn his mental game around a bit by winning.

Maybe he and TBC should travel around together and help each other out.

He should have taken the job at the Orleans and at least worked a few days a week.

Absolutely hilarious to hear him list up the things "he doesent like" about poker in Las Vegas. Like he cant handle Mandalay going 8 handed, or Aria 1/3 max buyin being 500. Lmao. And just absolutely losing his shyt when losing 60 bb with AA at Red Rock in the infamous hand vs set of Q.

This is a full blown comedy show at this point (probably been for a good while).

I'm glad to hear that he is finally coming to the realization that he is not a Vegas Poker Pro and needs to try elsewhere.

it is amusing to hear about all his reasons and excuses because they are all completely illogical

If you want a real treat, try the bone-in Veal Parm at Carbone.

hey you're telling the wrong guy

Diesel really thinks he's the smartest and most clever person in the world.

by Old Man Coffee k

Shocking news: El Diesel is fleeing Las Vegas because the games aren't nitty enough.

Seriously the writing was on the wall, ever since Ceasars rescinded his 4 daily voucher drinks.

by Koshka k

Diesel is the youngest OMC ever.

by Petrucci k

total lack of self reflection

by prev k

the game has passed by Diesel

Vegas has chewed up, and spit out another poker 'pro'.

Wait, Diesel said that at MGM several times in the uncapped 1/2nl with some crazy bad players in it, he would have $300 on the table and then add $500 more in green to cover them. I am not buying it. lol

Could you imagine the melt down if he got sucked out on for an $800 stack.

It doesn't sound like u really had much of a plan at all. You pretty much had no bankroll, your high mark of your liferoll was $3k?

I don't think anyone on this planet could make that work. Next time try asking your dad to pay for a condo and living expenses.

I don't know why everyone doesn't do that.

Only in his dreams.

Nits who are sitting around waiting for AA/KK aren't adding to their stack to cover anyone. Nomad's worst nightmare is having to play more than 100bb effective. As we all know, he flips out just losing 60bb.

by Koshka k

At this point, Diesel is gonna start min buying a la TBC soon in Vegas to combat all those pesky uncapped and bigger max buy games and most places now being 1-3 instead of 1-2. Imagine how hard it will be to lose $300 when you're min buying $60-$100 at a time plus he won't be martingaling buy ins like Tony.

Diesel might go a whole year losing less than $300 in a session.

I mean seriously. How can he still call himself a poker pro? He can't even meet his metric of winning enough in poker to cove

I think some players are afraid of the bigger stacks in those games. Why else would Trooper and El Diesel almost never play at Wynn 1-3 despite it having arguably the best games?

I suspect there is some fear because the players buying in for the big stacks are also often better than them. If you’re a fish that doesn’t even know what the words “effective stacks” means, or even if your skill level is similar to Trooper, the players buying in for $500 at the Wynn or Aria often will be better than you.

You’re right that they shouldn’t be afraid of the higher buy-ins in a 1-2 NL game, but some people are that clueless.

Some of the changes El Diesel complains about should actually benefit him. He could make a lot more without even playing 2-5 especially if he improves just a little bit. He could play 1-3 at Aria or Wynn with a $500 max, or he could play in 2-3 games with a $500 or $600 max. Or play Bellagio 2-5 with a $500 max. All those would make him a lot more money than playing 1-2 or 1-3 with a $300 max. And some of those options didn’t exist 10 years ago.

Just another cope by Diesel. "I cannot win in Vegas anymore because the games have changed so I will play elsewhere." He can't win in Vegas because his game never evolved. He will not win anywhere with his game, at least not enough to survive.

Low limit games are designed to keep you on the hamster wheel and make the operators money. He has given the man 7 years of his life for nothing in return. I think that's worse than working for the man.

The Ballys some call Horseshoe is only $30 this Friday despite ELD indicating his intent to leave Las Vegas.

Will be much tougher for impromptu trips to visit Herbs & Rye if he's in the middle of nowhere Nebraska vs. a short drive/Uber from Harry Reid International

His results are down the last couple years. He had to look for a reason, and this is what he came up with.

Back in the early days the Wynn 1/3 was uncapped, the era of the peach chips. It was really entertaining sometimes. I'd be sitting there with my little $120 stack and 2 or 3 guys that did not like each other would go to war. A guy would shove the second hand dealt to him, bust out his $1500 stack and re-buy for 2 grand. Rinse repeat 3 or 4 times.

by 18000rpm k

Imagine being a Vegas poker pro for 10 years and have to do a special challenge to shot-take 2/5 LOL.

It seemed kind of pointless to me as he was only short stacking and just trying to survive and make a little money, and not trying to move up in stakes.

OTOH I liked it better than his other challenges.

Plan was to find a dealing job ASAP. Work 75 percent. Play 25 percent. Didn't work out.

What is with all PWAP strategy talk? And he forgets to include the obligatory parking garage opening monologue?!

And I didn't see any condiments nor pocket snacks whatsoever.

Rice's is more than likely in Council Bluffs Iowa right now.

Rice's youtube content was pretty lame coming from 'The Entertainment Capital of the World', Las Vegas,
imagine how bad it's gonna be coming from Council Bluffs, Iowa.

More like the last 3 years.
There’s a good chance Rice is down for 2024.

If said baseball player never showed up to practice or worked on his game he would absolutely be a failure. I can’t imagine trying to play for a living when your only edge is preflop patience.

Vegas won’t miss Rice. His role in the poker economy will be filled in 5 minutes by someone who actually likes poker. He’s basically a parasite with the play style equivalent of rake and min/maxing chocolate milk comps.

by angle_shooter k

Seriously the writing was on the wall, ever since Ceasars rescinded Rice's 4 daily voucher drinks.
As long as Rice had access to cheap hotel rooms and his beloved drink vouchers he would have happily stayed in Vegas.
Even if it meant grinding promos/comps for $2 an hour for the rest of his days.

But it was almost impossible that he would even keep up diamond status with the dismal hours he has played this year so the jig was up for him in Vegas.

A big portion of Rice's world revolved around the Caesar's Rewards program.

There's so many false equivalencies and mind bending twists of logic/bs that I've had to watch the video multiple times

Do you like playing four handed? On a silent table? That's Vegas? Like what the actual duck

He loves the energy of Vegas, while being the exact opposite at the poker table. I call BS on him being the.fun table convo starter. Bs! Lies!

Not a good analogy. You have to work your way UP to AA, and you'll be 10 times better than a "civilian". Diesel pretty much IS a "civilian".

I wonder how Rice's investments are doing?

If he had a young man's portfolio of growth stocks he would be closer to retirement.

A 2% dividend return must be driving him crazy when compared to lesser mortals who just buy a 500 index.

You guys are nuts! I cannot believe this thread is going strong, with no hints of slowing down, based on Diesel (at this point). Insane!
