Roulette is a game. Shark could maybe work but it's not game shark and that would just be gambler so I guess not that.

I’m not a huge fan of guessing the next word on their list, so would prefer to stay away from tablet for now.
Gamer instead of gambler eliminates shark, as you said. It also points to video gaming, which there are a lot of war games. People sub to gamer streams.
We only have one word from the opening five clue. I think we go with bolding roulette/skyscraper/temple/wall (which I didn’t realize you’d removed) and then regroup, with war at the top of the list, followed by sub.
I like the Sub idea. Also not against Wall, just think it's weaker than the other 2 buildings to start but good with that next if you want. The Sub idea seems strong tho

That being said, I'm not sure where sub came from. War I would have totally understood, but sub?

Aaaaah I was totally off shark cause GameShark is a (I thought relatively well known)thing so thought the r in gamer was specifically so we wouldn't guess shark. +Gambler and other clue logic
