2024 NFL Regular Season: g-bebe’s Lamar attempts to slay Dom’s Josh for title of mafia boss

I know things change really quickly in the NFL, but who is going to take LONGER to recover from their self-sabotage: CAR or CLE?

I think Cleveland given the size of the contract still owing.
Panthers can at least start again if Bryce doesnβt pan out this year. Obviously looking back at what they could have done if theyβd taken Stroud or not traded up will be painful but they can move on. $22m dead cap but they could also keep him on as a back up
Cleveland have two years left of Watson after this one. $99m dead cap hit if they cut him at the end of the year!! $72m cap hit each of the next two seasons if they keep him and still $26m in 27 after the contract ends.
Hopefully CLE.
Unfortunately, we still have the Teppers.
fun times in cleveland again
I find it incredibly entertaining that a lot of people rank the top 3 QBs as Mahomes, Burrow, THEN Allen. Nope. It's Mahomes, Allen, then probably 2 or 3 other QBs before Burrow. So Burrow had a good 2022. Big deal.. Look at the last 4 seasons, not 1. Who has the most total TDs since the start of the 2020 season? Who has the most total TDs in their first 6 seasons in league history? Last I checked, the QB position isn't just TDs thrown, but rushing TDs as well. It's a dual threat position. Facts are facts and stats are stats. Those can't be refuted through trash talking.
Allen.
Dom burner?

I could be wrong, but I believe your numbers are wrong now that CLE has reworked his deal. Now his dead cap hit is $172M next year and $99M the year after that. Then it's $26M on the void year. Doesn't really matter, I just like pointing out how much money they're stuck into him.
Either way, I tend to agree it's CLE, but man, CAR neutered themselves for at least 5-6 years by missing two 1-1s plus all the extra they gave up. The money is still there, but that's a ton of capital just up in smoke.
Mind blowing stat - since signing his $160m deal Daniel Jones has thrown more pick sixes than touchdowns. At least they can get out at the end of this year

yes, you're right. I erroneously took the $99m from the 2026 row on the spotrac detail

Baker going 24/30 289 4TDs 0 INTs really rubs it in. Not that he's a top 5 QB but way more serviceable and would have been cheaper to extend and they'd have had all the draft picks too
There's something to be said that Baker benefited from going to a new situation. But maybe he would've figured it out if Cleveland extended him + showed due faith.
1. Brady started horribly, but give him some time. After which he'll still be horrible
1b. Seriously he's won more Super Bowls than anybody and was married to a wealthy supermodel, and I still look at him as a guy who I could probably steal a girl from
2. Dallas is still in trouble idgaf
3. I get the Dak contract but even closing in on 25% of cap space for QBs now, teams with starters will still underdraft QBs
4. This Deshaun ain't gonna suck itself
5. I made more $ by the end of August this year than I ever have in a single year, and I'm still done with the NFL package. I feel myself getting older and grumpier about price increases for no reason, like Netflix going up $2 makes has financial impact at all
6. I think I'm going to retire near San Diego. My finances say more like Spokane or Omaha but I'm saving on not having the NFL package
It really grinds my gears that you can't buy a 1 team NFL package.

Josh Allen is probably the most underrated player in all of sports right now.
Josh Allen is great and all but if the plan is for him to be Superman every week it's not sustainable.
Anyone feel like the new kickoff rules have been a total failure so far? Feels like teams DGAF about their opponents starting at the 30 and are just booting it into the EZ every time.
While the underlying theory of the change was to create more returns, I think the real reason for the change was player safety. And from that standpoint, I think the changes have been a success from what I've seen so far.

If the reason was for player safety then just get rid of it all together, and have every team start at the 20.
If it's to create more returns, then make the punishment more severe for not kicking it into the landing zone.
Touchback = opp starts at their 45
Kick out of bounds = opp starts at the 50
I dunno. It was windy AF at Bills game. Every kick towards end zone I was closest to was booted thru end zone. But, the kickers could not reach the other end zone. There was plenty of action on those kickoffs.

I think they were hoping for a combo of both. But the more/better returns element hasn't been there yet.
From an optics standpoint, I think the NFL doesn't want to get rid of it completely.
**** this Tepper idiot.

Just the savings in time from all the blocking in the back and holding penalties has been worth it.
Yeah, but how is that different from the way it was under the old rule? There were no penalties on the 90% of kicks that practically made it into the stands, while everyone kinda casually jogged a few steps watching it go. They've accomplished nothing but moving up the touchback point 5yd which will just increase scoring that much more.
lololol
