Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread
Hey,
So I'm compiling a list of places I need to go to, never been before but I have so far been told that we should hit up:
1. Nobu at the Hard Rock (seafood but like fine Japanese food)link
2. N9ne at the Palms (stakes imo)link
3. Ago at the Hard Rock(Italian)link
4. Prime at Bellagio (Stakes obv)link
5. CraftSteak at MGM (STAKESSSSSSS) link
6. Mesa Grill at Caesars (some kinda grill?) link
7. Fix at Bellagio (i have no idea i read the description, this could be ANYTHING) link
8. SW Stakehouse at the Win, obv stakes, for some reason wynn has the worst godamn website ever so no link=/
9. Bouchon at the Venetian (french, head chef is Thomas Keller, guy is fcking sickkkk) link
anyway, add to my list or tell me to avoid places on my list for reasons.
I checked out Mae dalys because John Curtas highly recommended it. It’s on the strip near the strat so location is bad but they have a valet. It was empty besides the bar at 9pm but I like dining at the bar alone. Tommy the bartender was great. I jumped around the menu and had a burrata summer salad that was very good, a baked clam dish that was in the ballpark of clams casino which east coast people probably know (that is a big compliment). The star was the duo of foie gras on a waffle that was absolutely fantastic. I unfortunately ended the meal on a bland note because the grand marnier soufflé was not great (think soupy apple pie consistency). Tommy saved it immediately and presented two mini cannolis (to “hold me over”😉 that were fantastic.
The food I would absolutely recommend, especially for people that read this thread that take food seriously. Unfortunately I don’t think I can recommend taking a date there, the lack of atmosphere just does not hold up to the strip level prices they are seeking. I hope you guys check it out though, maybe go for a drink and a few apps because the chef is doing a great job.
Mae's looks interesting. Not sure we can fit it in next trip, but I'd like to try.
yum
the foundation is 0.25c worth of lettuce
come on now. that's easily 0.35c worth of lettuce
can you finger food that baby lettuce?
The happy hour at Scotch 80 is pretty crazy.
Half off on some wines, a filet, salmon, ribeye cap, mashed potatoes, hash browns, Caesar salad, asparagus and some other stuff I can't remember.
The Salmon and ribeye cap are my usual dishes anyway, so that's nice.
Had bread and butter, Salmon, mashed potatoes and 2 glasses of wine for about $60+ tip.
Edit: oh yeah, it runs something like 5-6:30 and then 8:30 to 10:00 on week days. So it's pretty easy to manage that.
Bazaar Meeat. It's been years.
Caprese salad... what you'd expect. Small, kinda weird, very tasty. Lots of pesto, which I love.
Philly cheese steak. Again, on brand. Some raw or very rare meat atop an extremely puffy bread, more like a pastry that caves in when you bite, releasing a delicious cheesy goo.
Tasting portion (10 oz) of the Vacca Vieja. I believe Balbomb was touting this. The old cow definitely has a different flavor and it was a great piece of meat. I would suggest getting this, since it is both something different and excellent.
Brussel sprout petals with fruit. This was good. It is light, citrus flavored and a bit sweet. It was more of a salad than a side, though. I'm glad I tried it but would get potatoes or something next time.
Chef's choice of 8 pastries and cookies. Very tasty and well chosen, to cover a range of flavors. Some peanut butter, some chocolate, some lemon
meringue. This would be a stoner's delight. Not stoned, it was still excellent.
As I'm sure most know, it has kinda a cool environment. It's like Ed Giens house, if he was a cow. Service was excellent. Not a wine expert, but I liked my wine and I think it was $16 a glass.
The prices aren't bad in general, but you can really run it up if you get a lot of the tasting things and/or you want to consume tons of calories. I could see getting out of here under $100 if you got the sausage which is probably great. I could see dropping $300 pretty easily with a few drinks.
Speaking of Bazaar, I went to Bazaar Mar solo last week. Tried to order the wagyu strip steak but they said it takes 45 minutes to prepare and I was pokering so didn’t have that long to get back. It’s on the list for next time.
Had the calvados old fashioned cocktail and the liquid nitrogen whiskey sour, both were really good and you get a whole show for both table side.
I had the tuna with quail egg app and the crab paella, both were fantastic. $115 plus tip. They take the InKind app so cost me about 30% less than that. Really good overall and will definitely go back to try more stuff. Only got videos of the cocktails but here’s the food, last pic is the thick creamy sauce that was to be mixed into the paella and was very good. Crab paella was much lighter than it looks and had plenty of crab meat:
I was like that’s a good amount of fish and eggs until I read quail eggs.
Yeah it’s definitely not a big portion but was very good.
I keep getting ads for new popup steakhouse Four Sixes at Wynn, seems reservations are mostly not available. Menu looks great.
My wife made me get reservations for December. We apparently are planning a trip around it lol. Never watched Yellowstone but she is a huge fan.
I’m intrigued by the straw chicken.

Call them. I'm not saying reservations are available, but it's almost impossible to get Zuma reservations through seven rooms while they definitely have tables.
Visited LPM at the cosmo for their Sunday brunch experience. I posted the receipt that has the itemized dishes. All were great but noteworthy were the lobster Benedict (waiter admittedly said it was messy but delicious), yellowtail, and a solid ribeye. Even the jam and marmalade (unpictured) with the pastry basket was wonderful. But the star was the French toast. The consistency was so silky smooth with the spiced cream -- the whole dish is very decadent.
We were stuffed at the end, we opted not adding the famous cheesecake that I've heard great things about. Well worth the 85/pp price tag.
Herbs and rye and Edo are planned meals this week. I'll post pictures but less details as I (and many others) have done full trip reports.
That LPM brunch just went on my must try list for next Vegas trip

first time hearing of LPM
impressive plating based on the pics and solid value if it tastes half as good as it looks

Got reservation for mid October, will report back. Never watched Yellowstone or had any idea this was related to that but menu looks top tier if executed well

I shared some pics shortly after they opened. I had dinner and the food was decent, but the drinks were not. Maybe it's gotten better, but a mimosa is hard to screw up.
I've been meaning to try their brunch, but haven't gotten the chance to (I think they only added it around April/May).
Herbs and Rye
Spicy mussels app
Split a cacio e pepe dish
Sweet potato tots with marshmallow fluff
Bad pic of garlic spinach
Filet with onions and mushrooms
Ribeye with onions and mushrooms
Apologies for no close ups on steaks. Both were cooked perfectly. With 2 drinks powerful drinks, total was just shy of $100 per person before tip

My friend was very happy with his Grand Mimosa, where they sub out the OJ and use Grand Marnier. I had a mocktail, clarified mojito, which was very good. So maybe they cleared their early drinks issues
