Ukraine-Russia War Take 2
Here is what the preliminary take on the Ukraine thread disappearing is:
The site was hit with a massive spam attack where hundreds of spam threads were created. In the case where, for example, I see a single spam thread and delete it, that is called a soft delete, and mods can still see them but forum members cannot. Those deletion can be undone.
When a massive attack hits with hundreds of threads, an admin uses a different procedure where the hundreds of spam threads are merged and then hard deleted, where the threads are gone, and no note is left behind. As I have mentioned with my own experience of just soft deleting a large number of posts, sometimes a post or thread gets checked or merged accidentally and is deleted by mistake. Dealing with hundreds of spam threads takes a sledgehammer, not a scalpel.
It appears that our Ukraine thread may have gotten caught up in that recent net of spam threads. If so, it is likely gone for good. I cant say this for sure, and am awaiting comments from admins on this issue. Yes, this sucks. And hopefully there was some other software glitch that caused the disappearance, and we may recover it in the future.
But in the meantime, I have created this new Ukraine-Russia War thread to enable the conversation to continue. Obviously continuity with earlier discussions will be lost. There is no way around that. So as best as possible, let's pick up the conversation with recent events and go from there.
If you have any questions about this, please post them in the mod thread, not here. Let's keep this thread going with posts about the war, not the disappearance of the old thread.
Thanks.
I've never done that, that is a blatant lie, and you know it.
Stay on topic and own your views instead of just attacking others in bad faith.
That is indeed me and this is yet another attempt of yours to take something out of context in a bad faith argument. You know exactly what that was referring to. Do you think that Victoria Secret was a common shop in the Warsaw Ghetto? Why don't you use the other examples I posted about which showed how ridiculous it was to call Gaza the Warsaw Ghetto? Why is it always this one?
bro whut?
In the last thread when you commented on how hot the wives of some of the "nazis" were, was that a way of making fun of dead Ukrainians? That seems worse than my commenting that lingerie was likely not a common thing in the Warsaw Ghetto.
The topic of this thread is the Ukraine Russia war. When you bring up things like Zelenskyy using a "neat trick" to fulfill his power hungry nature and stay in power, that is absolutely on topic for this thread. This recent nonsense about Gaza that you are taking out of context and bringing here is NOT on topic for this thread.
oh right, bc you are a reliable narrator. we can look up the quote of yours and see that your statement is demonstrably false.

I have no idea what you are talking about with the wives but go on budday.

the topic of this thread seems to be your obsession with me. you can move on any time.
It's pretty clear. "prison item". I'm saying that your referring to Gaza as a prison like the Warsaw Ghetto is bad. I made multiple comparisons throughout the thread, you don't seem to bring them up for some reason. There was not even anyone dead in that to laugh about.
I guess it was just an offhand remark for you, but I found it pretty offensive. You talked about how hot the wives were for the far right serving in Ukraine. It's a shame the thread is gone so I can't pull it up. I am a far more reliable narrator than you are.
Feel free to go back on topic and actually defend your views. What is the "neat trick"?
so apparently ukraine (aka nato, aka usa) launched drone attacks on moscow? seems bad and dumb
If you were not constantly parroting and amplifying Russian propaganda, justifying Russia's right to invade (whether you realize it or not) and attacking Ukraine in every way imaginable, I would never bring you up. My "obsession" is with the war, you keep interjecting with nonsense about it. I don't care about you past what you post. If you stopped posting I would never mention you again.
You can move on any time. You can stop posting Russian propaganda, and attacks blaming victims.
brother I cant tell you the state of mind I was in from March when I made the post or the context.
I did go back to your post and see there was nothing for the 4 pages back that I looked at that had the terms, warsaw, ghetto, or concentration in them.
Gaza had been described by many international human rights and law organizations as a concentration camp or open air prison. you disagree with that, thats fine. I am not going to convince you. I just reject that someone like yourself should pass judgement on me. and if you looked at me favorably I would seriously question myself.

heres a good video on why the whole Russian propaganda thing is just complete bullshit in almost all cases.
you could even say that "Russian propaganda" is a way to stifle any criticism of Western Imperialistic interests and actions.

Do you deny that we discussed the Warsaw Ghetto, that we had an argument over whether or not Gaza was similar to the Warsaw Ghetto?
I had many such comments like that, on various things. It's unfortunate, but not surprising, that you mistook my meaning and gave it the absolute most bad faith interpretation, but now I've corrected you AGAIN.
Every judges people. You are judging me in this post. It's completely fine for me to judge someone who constantly amplifies Russian propaganda to justify their right to invade and genocide. It's a shame it hurts your feelings, it truly is. But those hurt feelings should probably tell you something which is that you do care. Because deep down you know you're in the wrong here. You know you're victim blaming. You know you're spreading Russian propaganda.

One could certainly say that, but they would be an absolute idiot for saying it.
We're now at the point where we are denying that Russian propaganda exists. Good stuff.

it hurts my feelings that you are given free reign to lie and insult me and I am not allowed to respond to you in kind. like I said, if we ever agree on something then I will know that I have lost my mind and morality.
anyway, this war will end with negotiated settlement. the Gazan war will end with a genocide. I will be right again like I always am. you will act like you supported a settlement and opposed a genocide but when the next Western driven crisis occurs you will be right back cheering it on.
Show the lies, there are none. Clearly you are allowed to lie and insult, as you have been for years now, I don't know what you're going on about. You are given preferential treatment that (as far as I can tell) no other poster is given.
Of course the war will end in a negotiated settlement, it was always going to end in a negotiated settlement. Such a brave prediction. As I've said multiple times, the problem is not a negotiated settlement, the problem is the negotiated settlement which leaves Ukraine open to be invaded and genocided again. This is the settlement you keep going suggesting Ukraine is warmongering for not taking.
I have never cheered on genocide and never will. Stop your lies.
I’m confused as to how that shows that there are “boots on the ground” even if it were true. It is being denied by both France and UK. Given it has been 7 months since it was said and no further report corroborating it, I’d say it’s fake news.
Last year, the U.K. government confirmed that it had sent long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine, with France — which calls its version of the same missiles SCALP — following shortly afterward.
Responding to the comments, the U.K.'s ex-Defense Minister Ben Wallace, who sent the Storm Shadows, said Scholz was "the wrong man, in the wrong job at the wrong time.”
While U.K. officials have previously called for some instructors to be posted in Ukraine on a limited basis, officially London is clear that Kyiv is in charge of operating the missiles.
“Ukraine’s use of Storm Shadow and its targeting processes are the business of the armed forces of Ukraine and has successfully put pressure on Russian forces,” said a spokesperson for the U.K.'s Ministry of Defence.
While there was anger in London, Paris was calmer about Scholz's comments despite broader friction between France and Germany over arming Ukraine. The government had no official comment, but MP Benjamin Haddad from President Emmanuel Macron's Renaissance party tweeted that the chancellor's comments created a "diplomatic crisis" with London.
"Berlin is very isolated," he added.
"Looks like Scholz cares as little (or even less) for his U.K. allies as he does for the French. Silver lining nonetheless: he's unwittingly helping to break the taboo on the presence of NATO-member forces in Ukraine," tweeted François Heisbourg, a senior adviser with the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies.
As far as the Le Monde article, this is not what anyone refers to as “boots on the ground” it is talking about diplomats and possible presence of intelligence officials, which most intelligence services have in nearly every one of their allied states. It’s an opinion piece essentially suggesting this is akin to having a military presence. By any common definition of “boots on the ground” that doesn’t come close.
