AKo 3bp

AKo 3bp

MP opens 7bb
Call
Hero on BTN 35bb with AKo
BB calls
MP calls

The BB I've found to be pretty solid player when they cold call 3b I think there range is pretty strong

Flop 10c7c5h (113bb)
Checks through

Multi way I think checking is best especially with the cold caller.

Turn 3s (113bb)
BB bets 40bb

Im getting good odds here but still though best to fold

having said this the main reason for check back was the cold caller as she was pretty solid so I took her range to be pretty strong, if we dont have the cold caller and just the OR should be be Cbetting this flop with all out AK OR JUST AK with clubs

Can you expand on what the pretty strong range looks like with hands? Do you mean they call with hands we would expect to be in a squeeze/value 4bet range or simply their call range isnt loaded up with "ignore the math and maybe this J3s smashes the flop" type holdings?

-----

OTF: in 3bet pot i think being a bit more aggressive here in position works better, your 3bet range vs an MP would be wider than just QQ+/AKs

Additionally, trying to fold out 1 opponents equity is very valuable and I expect MP's overcall of 3bet after BB cold call to be wide and weak and unable to continue to a lot of pressure. If anything, I could see argument for checking based more around BB's range but I want to understand the qualifying statement more first please before I can do so.

What suits are your AK btw? Knowing this would help define the turn lead by BB and allow you and us to better ascertain their likely range. For example, an aggressive player may lead with AsXs hands after flop checks thru on a board like this. But before I can even really make any proper assumptions here I think we do need more info on BB please.

Without the above info I'm inclined to just say fold - help us help you out here a bit more OP

Well I was meaning she plays pretty tight anyways does not raise much so when she cold calls a 4 bet I would assume she has a pretty strong range im thinking like JJ+ Maybe AK too especially since I have made a big 3B

OTF if we bet would we bet with all our AK or just AK with club, What sort of sizing should we be betting here?

My exact combo was AsKc

id 1/3-1/4 pot bet flop and 3/4 pot club and ace/king turns if it gets HU. if not HU on turn then check back all turns including Aces and Kings for pot control.

Thanks that’s good advice

What is the strategy (or counter strategy) your opponents are employing against you that would make this question the most important in your game?

Ill respond to the other points in a bit too but I think focusing on the above first is ideal for your overall strategy at these stakes/these opponents.

Similar kind of question but would be my follow up question: What mistakes are your opponents making in 3bet pots where shifting your betting frequency depending on the suits in your AKo holdings could be the best way to capitalize/exploit those mistakes?
