YouTube Videos- Best of the Best

Seems like a lot of YouTube videos are popping up in threads, and I thought it might be helpful (to me, at least) to put the best of the best in one place. My vision is only the top tier videos- those that gave you an "ah-ha" moment. For me, it's a simple one, but truly an "ah-ha" moment for my game:

I watch this video and wonder why I ever see anyone chipping differently, and why I ever did. If I didn't see 80% of the golfers I golf with have weird-ass chipping styles, I'd even say this stuff is "too simple," but if anyone needs chipping help, this video is it in my opinion. It didn't take much practice to get this down, and now, I hit the shot I want to 95% of the time, and the mistakes come from picking the wrong club and getting the wrong distance. I chip/bump and run from pretty far off the green, down to a 7 iron, sometimes 6. My error percentage with this shot is way better than a pitch. It's such an easy motion, it baffles me that not everyone can do it.

(One of the reasons I'm posting this one is because chipping and putting are the only things I'm actually good at....still looking for those other videos that will change the rest of my game, ha)

Nothing ground breaking but couple of good drills in here in theory.

It's not much of a YouTube instructional video, but the Jerry after Dark stuff was pretty fun to follow.

Anyone have a good YT vid for someone who needs to flatten their swing? I'm tired of hitting pop up drivers when things get out of whack.

Pretty good watch some of you might find interesting.

Been loving all the Greg Rose TPI videos but this one especially stuck out.

Just have never seen someone break down the downswing sequence as:

1. Weight shift
2. Right Tilt
3. Twist
4. Jump

before. And the realization that basically all of #1 and most of #2 happen before the club starts coming down is huge.

Related to that video, can't recommend the Chasing Scratch podcast strongly enough, especially if you're in the mid-40s'ish age group. Super good and fun listen.

2nd'd. Two very funny guys struggling in the most hilarious ways. I'm 5 seasons in and really enjoying it.

I attended their Final Major and Velcren Invitational tournament last October, and they are super chill friendly guys in person, and the entire cult, er I mean group, is great also. 😃

found this to be a good reminder before starting to move around a rusty golf club
absolutely sure things will be ironed out after qualifying through my local pro-am fore april at augusta national

Not sure if this is everyone's thing but to me this was a great watch.

athletic motions not robotic movement
(my words)

promise i am not an up shill liar

but Bell intellegently explains things in a way that frequently click

speaking of . found this one topically fascinating in relation to my last range session

I legit don't think that there is anyone to watch but Dr. Greg Rose.

It's not the most accessible for amateurs in terms of "Do this, then this", but he has so many nuggets in there of what you must do to have a better swing.

The best one to me is in his video with now PGA Tour winner Aldrich Potgeiter. He spends so much time on his lower body sequence, then says the key line.

"Amateurs are always late"

The jump and twist off the left foot is the last thing to do in the lower body sequence. Potgeiter who mashes the ball does that while the club is still parallel or past parallel to the ground in his downswing (behind his head).

If there are people struggling with their swing which all of us do to a certain extent, I guarantee you will at least get closer to a "good" swing by watching a bunch of TPI content and digesting the lessons within.

Yeah the Mytpi stuff is so good to watch. I watched the one below and watching him do a completely new move that was so alien to him and I think you can see he is thinking how the f do I actually do this. Then he gets it and starts crushing it.

I could watch this stuff all day tbh. I would love to see Rahm on this just because how short his swing is.

Did anyone else watch the Internet Invitational? I thought it was great. What a cast of characters.

And controversy!!!

I watched it all. Good stuff to have on while exercising. Sometimes long form golf YT videos or series can be a slog but it was well done.

I think if you're not into the Barstool or BDS content world (I admit Barstool is at times a guilty pleasure of mine) it might turn you off. The format was a bit high variance I would say but that was the intention. A lot of good golfers were out before the final 12.

Not a good look for Mo or Paige.

Yeah I loved it.

Spoiler
Show

Kwon was a idiot not for not waking up (He should of woke up btw, but it's not like he slept in on purpose) but the way he didn't really say sorry. From watching his videos I know he has this nonchalant way about him so I sort of knew this wasn't going to go down well.

Paige was an idiot end of. Some of the comments made on that first green and then to proceed to improve your lie and to proclaim you didn't know you could do that when your local 20 handicapper knows you cannot do that. Then to start crying over it.

Mo talking about the slope thing specifically. I done a little research on it and I'm fairly sure he didn't have slope on at least when he was asked about it (I think 2 times) he may of had it on at other times, but the Micah moment on the Par 3 course I don't think he had it. He got a 137 number Paige got a 140 and Micah got 142 (He was sat in his buggy on the cart path). I get when he picked up the rangefinder it looked really suspect but fairly sure it wasn't on when he picked it up.

Chaz is a beast. Glad to see Peter Finch playing some good stuff.

Brad is a beast he played amazing and the way he kept the other 2 up beat in the final round was really good and they even got him out of trouble here and there. The way that it ended was great to see a Beef montage (RIP Beef)

The place looks amazing and that Par 3 course they played just makes me want to visit the place sometime in my life bet it isn't cheap though.

Yeah the par 3 course looked outstanding.

Chaz was insane, got totally slept on in the drafts. He played arguably the best golf outside of Dalke in the entire event.

So - old video (on Milo's channel) - but I really like Riley and Elite Golf.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYIFAe2W...

They do Q&A Live most Fridays, and the app is actually one of the best deals in golf. $20 /mo. (cheaper up front or annually) and you get their video catalogue and the ability to submit videos for personalized coaching. Sometimes they will point to a drill video and explain why. Other times they will make a personalized video showing the thing they want you to work on and why. It's pretty great.

The thing to note is that they prefer a "hitter" swing (e.g. Hovland) rather than a "swinger" swing like Tiger. If you've been playing for years, and have a shift / lead leg post swing where you get a ton of power from lead leg vertical force - it's going to be a journey.

That said, I undertook the swing journey about a year ago and have been really happy with the changes. I'm not quite there (especially with driver which I still want to power with a jump) - but I've made some significant changes that I'm very happy with.

Another that I enjoyed recently:

Glad you liked it! The second video "unders" move is something that I ignored in his teaching for a long time as I thought it was for OTT folks. Then I did it in a mirror for the first time this week, and realized that the subtlety to the movement is the ability to do it while "bouncing your hips to flexion" rather than extension (for lack of a better way to describe it).

That feel really helps to keep the pelvis back, and move sidebend up into the t-spine - turn the corner - and exit low left.

I definitely looked like an ******* doing it on the range though.

there are a couple of things that really clicked after watching this one.feel free to thoroughly scrub through past participles that might annoy you.
