NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
Prime is in his 2nd year. He now has the team he has desired via experience and the transfer window. Just like Barry Odom at UNLV. One is excelling when unexpected, one is not when expected....
As much as it pisses me off to admit, I am slowly starting to come around to your view point. The coaching, in particular with multiple 1st round NFL draft picks on the offensive side, ain't cutting it.
If they beat the CSU a**holes for his 2nd straight year I will give him a break on criticism for a few weeks...but no excuses for a sub 500 season.
CSU had the one year with Jim Mackelwain (sp?) where they won like 12 games.
WFU, wtf? Miss is not that good.
Holy Toledo
good thing the Irish had a 'get right' opponent scheduled after last week's upset
now how does the B1G nudge Purdue to the MAC where they belong?
NIU would roll those dough boys by 100.
as a side note, I guess the demise of Notre Dame was premature thinking.
the LV books cleaned up on this one....
LOL
That CSU fan (may be hundreds of them) looked like they stepped out of the movie Dragnet.
Will Sark get both top qbs hurt in the same game?
Is he drinking again?
It goes to show you, nobody can win a thousand regular season games in a row. Like I always say, Stoops teams look like they are trying to set the game back not 50 years actually, but about 60 years. In the mid 60's the games looked like this. His teams are certainly capable of inspired defensive efforts, but the offense is just so meh. So many halves are a war to get to 100 yards. What is the reluctance to get a pro-style offense in here? Of course you can't risk trying to score a TD at the end of the half. We are trying to win this thing 3-0. Whoops we turned it over and they tied it up. Let's try to win it 6-3. That kind of thinking.
Ewers doesn't look thrilled.
ok, not sure if my internet is deceiving me, but can anyone confirm if the following is true:
- Tennessee is up 65-0 at HT
- Mississippi St. is losing 35-3 to Toledo (at home) 3rd qtr
What the hell is up with the dregs of the SEC?
Vandy down two scores to PassGSU
Auburn gave up almost 300 first half yards to 0-2 New Mexico and is only up 17-13
Mississippi State down 28-3 to TOLEDO
AFAIK all three games are at home
Auburn is up 24-13 tyvm.
But yeh our defense has sucked ass. This qb is very mobile
Indiana just got called for roughing the passer on a QB SACK.
They brought the expert in and he said it's because the QB was in a passing motion?!?!??
UNBELIEVABLE
There don't appear to be many cowbells left in Starksville.

I think there have been 3 games called 5 minutes early so far this season because of blowouts. Tenn will make it 4.
just cuz your cool Booker, I'll post a sneak peak:
- I don't know who are bigger losers - CSU fans or Jay Norvell. Neither have ever won anything in sports of any consequence but they love to get in your face mouthing off. Jay Norvell, in particular, was a loser at Nevada-Reno and f**k him he is still a loser. In Colorado, I get the big brother little brother thing. But at least teams with those relationships in other states have won something. CSU is a zero college that has never won anything or
Preach brother!
😃 😃
That is insanity. Wtf
WTH? Is his mama reffing that game?
HOW is THIS NOT THE BIGGEST STORY? INDIANA GOT CALLED FOR ROUGHING THE PASSER ON A QB SACK!!!
that's some bullshit
edit: also LOL CSU
