having a fully staffed cage at 2am vs not having a cage is a no-brainer even if lines are going to suck during prime time

it's a genius move as I'm sure some BJ donks will get tired of standing in line for 20 min and decide to join the fun

Fully staffed is ambitious and this will be a **** show.

I don’t agree with you. I prefer 2 separate cages.

Do you work for Harrah’s, Parx or any other casino? ( Just Kidding 😀 )

Wouldn’t mind if they would let me sell my chips to the degens who are itching to play at least

sure two are better but those days are long gone and are not coming back

it's definitely better to have a main cage in the poker room at night

well they have no choice, the lines are going to be ridiculous as it is

what's another **** show at the **** show central that is MGM

Well they're even dumber than I thought if they do this during the poker series.

how many entrants at the omaha hi lo tournament?

Believe it was 114, got to tell you MGM is garbage. No poker rate for rooms, pay to park. Guess I will go back to staying at Harrahs.

Is there anywhere that they are posting the numbers and results? I thought there was a blog but can't seem to find it

I've trashed this place plenty in this thread many times and rightfully so. They're still understaffed, the no cage half the time thing is a joke and they still have some empty suits flooring. But I was pleasantly surprised this trip that overall the dealers were good during the series. I really expected disasters with double board bomb pots but didn't see anything. Inconsistent rules are very annoying- for example some days would could take time out of the bomb pot and some days they made someone put it up or took it from everyone individually which is a waste of time. But overall I saw very few dealer mistakes and most dealers were pretty fast.

Maybe at hold 'em, but not at PLO cash games. Dealers were pretty bad at the PLO cash games during my visit. Few would count the pot accurately, reading hands correctly was iffy, and making side pots took forever. PLO dealer training, please!

I'm talking all plo.

Still not nearly as good as parx dealers but a lot better than when I was there in the January series.

I agree the dealers have definitely approved this series vs the January one. My issue remains the floor. They are polite but the can also be spineless, inconsistent and allow way too much inappropriate player behavior.

I remember one instance last night where an angry player threw his cards at the dealer because he was mad at a call I made. Cards landed on the floor and the game paused while the deck had to be counted out. All the while he's calling me names. Whatever, I'm a grown up and I can handle this. I told him to cool it and we were fine after that. But the floor watched every bit of this sequence and all he did was politely ask the player not to throw cards because it delays the game. This is the kind of the behavior that keeps friendly recs away from the game and the floor's response was absolutely pathetic.

Also, the wait system is still completely broken.

floor is mostly spineless and inconsistent.
whoever decided making people go up to the front instead of the table with their cards should be shot in the face. i started maybe 5 or 6 games and a few of the times the floor told us to not even bother with that pointless nonsense and just swipe in at the table. one dealer refused to swipe someone in starting a new game when we had been playing 5 handed for a few minutes and made them swipe in up front.

It's a far cry from PARX flooring which is very consistent fair and firm.

I did see a few dealers I know who are horrendous still floating around but luckily I faded them in my games.

there are still a few long-timers there that are terrible, especially at flooring

I've witnessed one floor send a new player back to the podium because his card didn't swipe (and podium never checked before sending him to the table) instead of letting him sit and figure out the issue with the podium herself

the new guy was there for the first time, obviously couldn't understand their idiotic rules and said he won't be back to Borgata

mind you, this was past midnight and she was extremely busy chatting up another floor in a half empty room

I imagine it's a PITA to get rid of people like her because of the union

Is the play at the double board bomb pots as bad as I imagine? Just wondering if that alone might make the PLO games a better value than Parx currently.

Sounds like every poker room to me. Lazy rude incompetent and unprofessional floor people treating players like dirt because they want to stand around and not do **** or there resentful that dealers make more money then them.

Nah plenty of well run rooms don't have these issues.

As for double board pots- I saw plays range from atrocious to way too timid.

Not horrible but soft. Parx games def tougher. As for the floor the guy running the mix game tournies was bad we needed players just about all the time and very late in getting us players.

Name a few. In Nevada they might be more well run due to a strict gaming commission but outside of that most rooms I’ve played at are a shitshow

Lol at Parx. The floor people scurry away faster whenever they hear a dealer call for floor
