NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
Best games by time slot:

K State @ BYU
Gonna' throw in a plug for 3:30 Arky @ Auburn; Arky continues their weird do-we-have-a-bunch-of-double-agents ****ups. Auburn's new qb looked pretty competent against literally the worst defense in FBS but won't face *that much* of a better one this week either. Defensively they seem really really really vulnerable to running quarterbacks (though possibly only ones from New Mexico, somehow) but otherwise are bad in a way I am not accustomed to seeing. Arky's defense does have one really killer move involving taking a ball carrier's helmet off and delivering blows to his head, by bodyslam if necessary (Good news--that UAB receiver has been released from the hospital). But they'd better not try that against Auburn
appy st. more like crappy st. amirite
good grief what a terrible 1st half performance
I hate when I'm on a team where the coach's whole plan was to " 'stablish the run"
I was considering betting East Carolina M/L vs. Liberty but I wanted to see if them barely losing vs. Appy St. was a good or bad loss.
I've seen enough to cancel the East Carolina bet.
Kinda making me want to bet against Clemson at this point

They were lucky early to jump up 16-0 too. Blown coverage and a pick six in the first 10 minutes then 200 yards the rest of the game. Against *that* defense.
If you didn't get a chance to see it; yes, it was really bad enough for that.
Biggest laugh I had today was when I went to PFF and checked their "missed tackles" count of 20 against Appy. I didn't realize they keep that stat as "average per drive", lol.
Let's go Corn, time to stick a pin in Fat Bert
Illinois sitting in Banjo man is awesome. They can't play it the whole game but it's a very advanced look. The DBs have to run a lot more and relies on DL doing the thing but it's fun as hell to watch.
lol Stanford defender, c'mon man.
Has to be an INT. Sick variance.
That can't possibly stand as a TD, can it?
raiola is good
lol Bert
"they're gonna try and draw them offside and then punt it here, no doubt about that"
stanford goes for it and converts
....
Nebraska trying to give this one away with dumb penalties
ice in his veins
PAC2 after dark!
