NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
That was the most Iowa end of half sequence of plays ever. Run, run, run, run, oops out of time.
Turnovers are drunk in this game
Have to let that stand since it looks basically lateral
Buffalololols
wanted to make a rare fire the special teams coach walking off the field at HT comment. However, apparently the BUFFS don't have one on the staff. Which explains how s**t the kickoff and punt coverage has been. No matter, fire someone in the front office at HT to make an example.
seriously, it's bad enough that the play calling stinks and that the BUFFS secondary can't cover anyone. but, for ffs, how hard is it to tackle someone running back a punt or kickoff??? jfc
UPDATE: and now a Baylor QB sneak turned into a 42 yd run on 4th down. I'm probably going to destroy my computer before the night ends. How is it possible to be this incompetent?
Deion Sanders is a bad coach right? Like the bloom is fully off the rose at this point surely
There were like 3 WTF moments on that TD alone
lol OK credit to FOX for not overturning that BUFFS TD (i.e. $$$ to the refs). Gotta keep people tuned in. I thought he was pretty clearly down. Oh well!
bowling green!!
cal kicks for the 3rd time on an obvious go for it spot
****ing kill me
at least we made this one
Cal/FSU is certainly a game of football, that's for sure
lol aTm
thank god DJU ****ing blows
OMG BOWLING GREEEEEEEN
I'm going to throw a theory out there right now (or maybe it's not, heels may know better)...
The Carolina Panthers will take Shedeur Sanders with the #1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft and "lure" PRIME away from the BUFFS to be HC. as bad as the Panthers are, I think this really isn't out of the question.
Oklahoma will not go to a bowl game this year
speaking of (former) BUFF HC's, lol Mike McCarthey and FIU.
They have been a weird team since he's been there - FIU has binked some great moneylines as a dog. but they have never covered as a favorite (including tonight)...you would be a better human being giving your money to the Salvation Army if u see a minus in front of the FIU point spread....
Ole Miss with the Flying Pegues act. 325 lb over the top on a direct snap. OOF!
NICO
I feel so dirty winning that FSU bet...
