English Premier League 2024-25

2024-2025 EPL Preview

Man City have set another record with 115 charges of financial shenanigans and also managed to win a 4th PL title in a row becoming the first team to do so narrowly beating out arsenal who took it to the last day this year. They accomplished this by rattling off an absurd 33 games unbeaten in all competitions making it 6 titles in 7 years for the Citizens.

Some pictures from the aftermath:

Golden boot winner:
Erling Haaland

Golden Glove:
David Raya

Player of the Season:
Phil Foden

PFA Young Player of the Season:
Cole Palmer

Season Preview:
Man City and Arsenal have distanced themselves as the clear favorites for the title. With Arsenal closing the gap and beating Man City on xG could this be the year that they get over the line? There are some large error bars on Liverpool with klopp retiring and Salah getting older, will they be able to insert themselves in the title race again like they did last year?

For top 4/5 can Aston Villa repeat last years feat thanks to the normal culprits being completely incompetent or will one of Chelsea/United get their **** together finally (hopefully not)? Spurs went full Spurs throwing the match vs City to stop arsenal from winning the title while costing themselves top 4 in the process, will they be in the race again despite doing no business at all in the summer to address squad needs?

The relegation fight as usual has the 3 promoted teams as favorites to go back down, but with PSR looming in the background could we see a surprise team relegated?

Superb game, now onto RedZone!

by TheGramuel k

Did Haaland throw the ball at an Arsenal player's head??

yes lol

by TheGramuel k

yes lol

I’m sure the retrospective red card is already in the pipes.

lmao

bop!

by TheGramuel k

yes lol

he also said "who the **** are you??" to that arsenal kid that made his debut when they were all arguing at the end of the game.

hopefully this means haaland has decided to fully embrace his berserker genetic coding

Confirmed furious.

I mean, this same referee showed Kovacic a yellow card for what easily could have been a red card offense, and then minutes later when Kovacic made the same foul he didn't even get booked at all.

But Trossard chases the ball 1 second after a foul and that's a yellow card. You're right I'm furious.

Someone should investigate Michael Oliver's bank account and maybe it'll become 116 FC.

He was at the very least delaying the restart. There’s rules in this game and they’re meant to be followed. Violent conduct and delaying the restart is 7 yellow cards by my count.

Someone should investigate Trossard for being such a ****ing idiot and leaving his team down to ten men for 45 minutes in a crucial game.

**************

Always thought Haaland was some sort of imbecile but the throwing of the ball and insulting of the sub have made me reconsider.

Offshore accounts ftw

Also this... bring on the extra scrutiny

deep investigation into the troussard match fixing scandal pls

havertz apparently the first player in 7 years to play a full game and complete 0 passes.

What Sean Dyche player was the last?

Would have taken the draw in a heartbeat when Trossard went full ******. I thought we are going to lose by 2 at least

Not too much in the 97th minute...eh, seemed good to be true tbh

But seriously what is Trossard even doing there?

On a sidenote I'm really confident about this season. Now for some nice wins for our next games then the next hell walk begins with Plop

sesaon defining moment. city will win the league by 7 points rather than 4

agreed but i feel less good about this statement if rodri and kdb are going to miss significant time

Arsenal have gotten red cards in 3 of their last 7 league matches vs city. Convenient.

no yellow for this either. only arsenal players get yellows for delaying restarts.

also 7 minutes of extra time when the ball was in play in the second half for more than any other game this season. absolute joke.

2w-2d-0l from villa, spurs, atalanta, city away is solid at least. Good argument to be made that arsenal have played 4 of the top 6 in the league already with 3 being away. ( i rate villa/spurs/brighton as basically 4/5/6 in no particular order other than villa prob being the best of the 3).

I saw this doing the rounds on twitter and ****ing knew someone would post it here lol.

The amount of time it's in play isn't relevant. The clock doesn't stop when the ball goes out for a throw-in, for example. Also per twitter (have not fact checked this) that stat is INCLUSIVE of the injury time played.

7 minutes didn't feel excessive AT ALL, there were a lot of injuries / time wasting.

Yes yes all rigged against Arsenal we get it, the PGMOL meet every year and plot how to single out Arsenal, we understand.

Also wasn't Doku actually kicking the ball back to where a) the free kick should be taken and b) where the referee was signalling it should be taken, and c) closer to where it ended up ACTUALLY being taken from?

He kicks it back past half way line but it ends up being taken much closer to where he kicked it.

Don't think Trossard has that same argument. Maybe though!

Imagine if every fan came and posted about another wrong decision to cry about the right decision their team faced. also lol, Doku is literally kicking the ball towards where the freekick should be played (as indicated by the ref).

Weren't you also the poster who reposted some nonsense tweet that claimed it was the same referee as the brighton game but it wasn't ?

No idea why Arsenal fans have this insane victim mentality. Maybe it's because they've both witnessed their team being actually amazing and winning multiple prems, and now they're not? Perhaps in 6-10 years Man Utd fans will be the same, and if Spurs ever win the prem 3x in 6 years I'll check in and see if I have the same thing 15-20 years later.

Is there a possibility that Haaland gets punished for that idiotic action? What an imbecile

by Gabethebabe k

Is there a possibility that Haaland gets punished for that idiotic action?

He should be rewarded if anything tbh. Purely for the banter it would cause in this thread.

he should receive the legion d'hotspud medal of sporting excellence for his actions

winding up arse defenders after scoring a last minute equaliser is an age-old tradition which must be preserved
