-He'll continue to cooperate with the investigation, and play as the investigation plays out.
If all that's true, then this is probably the best possible outcome for his reputation going forward. He's a naive star athlete who trusted the wrong person. It happens.

Being a closer is harder in this scenario because you don't which days you'll pitch. Plus warming up in the bullpen while having a spot in the batting order is very problematic.
If you want to lighten his load you use a 6 man rotation and/or keep him on a shorter pitch count.

they should have played a doubleheader yesterday but that would involved forethought.
I also think teams should get no travel day after this nonsense 3 game series. Punish them and give the 1/2 seeds more of an advantage. They're waiting around too long to play as it is.
But if the Mets and Braves play a DH Monday Manfred should push their playoff series back a day and just lose the travel day if they end up playing a game 3 in the first round.
Better to lose a travel day after one hypothetical game which might not even happen than after a doubleheader.

If another team signs him and gives him 4 PAs would he still get the 200k and if so who has to pay? If it's prorated it would be hilarious if another team did this as a **** you to the Pirates.

oh wow i just googled the rowdy tellez thing because i had no idea what you were talking about
that's so incredibly stupid, i get how they want to move on and try out youth players, but make that decision at the beginning of the month when he's nowhere close to hitting the incentive or even if they really want to just let them play a single game, just pay him the bonus anyway through a buyout
you know with absolute certainty this is going to bite them hard in the ass the next few years in free agency - so monumentally stupid to handle it that way over what is essentially a rounding error on their payroll

A Monday Mets/Barves double header is awful for both teams obviously but could be pretty great for neutral fans if there's a postseason spot on the line. And it's baseball, so whoever would get into the wild card round would still have like a 40% shot or something.

Braves are ****ed. They're going to be rained out Thurs. Move the KC series to Houston. Everything went wrong for them this season, except for the George Costanza prediction, but that's too dark.
If you told me a team would only have 1 guy with 10 wins or more, and that guy only had 11 wins, and you told me that team would only have 2 guys that managed to pitch 100 innings, I would think you were talking about some last place team.
But that team is 93-64
James Paxton, with 89.1 innings pitched, is 3rd on the Dodgers.
Their top 4 guys in wins

Paxton - 8

They only have 2 pitchers to even reach 100 strikeouts.
Saves? Team high is 18
Yet their team pitching is 7th out of 15 NL teams.

I also just found out the Mets and Braves were both off Monday making this even more of a clown show.

newb stat question. Total Bases as a stat....how is that calculated? I can't think of an obvious way for it to be calculated when I look at the HR, triple, double, single and SB stats for any player
