How do you share your live poker hand histories???
Hey, I always struggled to find a logical way to share hand histories that I played live with my friends, so I decided to create a tool to simplify the process.
->Here is an example of the hand I just ...
Can you guys give me some feedback on the tool:
* What do you like?
* what do you hate?
* what should be added?
* would you use a tool like that?
Would really appreciate any input π
Cheers

There are a few of these wandering around the web. We don't use them ITF, as folks don't have the whole hand visible for reference while they reply to questions, so they have to replay it multiple times if they want to give significant feedback. Since few folks will take the effort, hands submitted on replayers get few responses and the ones they do get are in much less depth.
With yours in particular, I don't like that it shows all known hands the whole time, as that is not info that was known at the time of decision(s), so it leads to results oriented thinking.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
As far as displaying hands goes, you can select whether you want to show the cards before the showdown or not so this should not be a big problem.
That said, you have a good point about not being able to see the full hand at once, I never thought about it. Maybe it would be better if we could use a replayer like that to embed?
Even if it's embedded instead of linked, it still has to be constantly replayed as you try to reconstruct the action and decide if the flop bet sizing was appropriate given SPR, etc, etc. It's much easier to do that with text.
There are a few very visual people who prefer a replayer, but even most online folks use a hand history converter that outputs it to text, such as:
PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4
Hero (SB): 114 BB
BB: 102 BB
UTG: 77.2 BB
MP: 65.4 BB
CO: 100 BB
BTN: 135.4 BB
Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB
Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has Q♣ A♦
fold, MP calls 1 BB, fold, BTN raises to 5 BB, Hero raises to 15 BB, fold, fold, BTN calls 10 BB
Flop: (32 BB, 2 players) 5♠ 4♦ 8♥
Hero checks, BTN checks
Turn: (32 BB, 2 players) T♠
Hero bets 16 BB, BTN calls 16 BB
River: (64 BB, 2 players) 6♠
Hero bets 46 BB, BTN raises to 100 BB, fold
BTN wins 148.2 BB

Am I stupid for just typing out what happened?
As for the tool - I think it would be better if it had "hero" rather than numbering all the players. I have no idea who is who on this one.
Also - I didn't bother trying to use the tool to create a hand, but I'm assuming I could type it out faster, at least when I have a complete keyboard, and there's zero chance I'd ever try to use this tool or type all of it out on a phone.
It seems like something a poker vlogger would use, if he wasn't allowed to record in a card room.
Hand converter (or at least following a HH template) is a courtesy to the people reading it as much as it is a convenience to the poster.
I know my dyslexic ass misreads at least one detail in even the HHs with the best of intentions, much less the ones that just mention in passing as the 2nd close of the 3rd sentence of a 5 sentence paragraph βI was just dusting the brim of my fedora when I got dealt the painted ladies.β
For online poker, you can just copy and paste the raw hand history and the converter takes care of the rest, so itβs a win for everyone. I think even for live itβs easier for the poster too, once you actually know what converter you like and how to use it, but the learning curve will keep people from adopting it in the first place.
Never heard of a hand converter before this thread. I kinda prefer analog because it forces me to think and edit, but I might check them out.
What is the consensus about the best?
I don’t know for live.
I'm not a programmer, but it feels like it shouldn't be that difficult to build a live HH template, using either check boxes or fill-in-the-blanks.

Thanks for your answer. I agree that when using the desctop or taking hand from an online game, it is much easier and faster to share it via text.
That said, the initial idea was to create a tool for live poker players so that they can submit the hand via the phone and share it, I think we made in interface very convenient for that. so would be interested to hear your opinion if you actually try it π

There are many converters for online hands where you can just copy and paste HH, but I don't know the alternative to this one for live games - https://www.mypokercoaching.com/poker-ha...
Does anyone know of other tools that do that?

I only play live, not online, so I wasn't familiar with hand converters before this thread.
I used to share hands via text with some friends, but haven't in a while.
When I've posted a hand here, I've just typed it out as it happened, and included any live reads. Since this is a live poker strat forum, the reads are often important to the analysis, since we're often taking exploitative lines.
If it's a choice between typing a hand out here, or typing it into your tool, and then posting the output here, along with typing out the reads that your tool doesn't show, it doesn't sound like the tool adds a lot of value, other than creating a visual depiction of the action, rather than a text description.
I'm not sure if you're looking forward to a future where you can somehow monetize the tool in some way, but if so, good luck with that. I would suspect that you're unlikely to see extremely high adoption. It strikes me as a solution in search of a problem.
But take that with a grain of salt. I may not be the target market for a tool like this. I doubt I'm sharing enough hand histories to warrant trying to get me to use it.
