Zappa is one of those artists who I appreciate their import, but I never, ever want to listen to.

Never really listened to Matthew Sweet until kioshk mentioned them a few years ago. I think he does really good pop music, and I love his cover albums with Susannah Hoff's. Get to see him live next month at the Narrows in Fall River, MA.

Current events keep reminding me of this one:

I like listening to Zappa but only understand 10% of it. Of course I love listening to Monk but only understand 1% of it, so there's that.

Given how big Green Day is, it's kind of surprising how far under the radar Pinhead Gunpowder has managed to fly. They'll sell out smaller clubs, but they're still relatively unknown.
