Broke and Homeless by the end of the year
Hey. I’m a bankrupt degenerate looking to find some sort of solution before the end of the year. My current living arrangements are paid for until December 31st, at which time I will officially be homeless.
I have no job. The last job I had was at McDonalds which I was fired from stealing (nuggets are soooo good though). I’m 33, no job prospects to speak of, so I have turned to poker.
I have never had a winning month. I have been playing the game my whole life but am absolutely terrible. Here is where I turn around my life and my game.
I will be posting updates every week. I have 2000 dollars to start, and if I am able to accumulate 10k by the end of the year, I should save myself from homelessness.
I will be playing with 40 buy ins (starting at 50plo) and will occasionally take shots in good lineups.
Wish me luck! IF I fail you will most likely never hear from me again.
I won’t fail though. I literally have no choice.
Enjoy!

do you even have a plan to become a winning player first? some coach or something?
Kind in the same boat. Not going to be homeless though. Just cant catch a break anywhere else. If it doesn't work out I'm going back to the old me on the streets, or I plan to suck on the barrel of a shotgun. I wish you nothing but the best of luck brother. Praying for you.

Thanks brother, wishing you the best.
Lmao. In.
Trainwreck incoming. Get the popcorn ready. GL tho op.
so why don't you get a job?
Here are a few easy jobs to get. None of them require an interview. First priority (aside from getting a job) should be getting a van or car to sleep in and have transportation ... that can also be used to do the below jobs. Of course only assuming you don't have a car since that wasn't mentioned in OP.

I appreciate it, but at the end of the day my tendencies are set in stone. I’m a life long bum looking to encourage other cockroaches of society to just take other people’s money on the poker table.
Any place requiring a criminal check has me drawing dead. Jobs are not easy to come by for us folk.

If you dont mind me asking what area are you in? Are we firing this 2k online or live?
I cant tell if youre receptive to advice or if thats not the vibe here but what came to mind for me is you could try to get good at dealing poker. Lots of homegames will employ real **** ups so long as they like you (or rather dont despise you) as a person. Its a chill job, you can start out just doing chip running and random ish and then be worked in as a dealer.
Plus youll be around poker which seems to bring you joy. Based on your criminal record I presume you couldnt get a job dealing at an actual casino(some records they allow but anything dealing with theft/fraud I think are disqualifiers).
How committed are we to this 10k or homeless cutoff? That would be a pretty great outcome and not saying you cant do it, but try to set smaller short term goals instead of just swinging for the fences
Are you open to jobs if one comes your way or nah? Might be able to find some random stuff to do online if you genuinely want the work.
Feel free to msg me if youd rather chat privately.

Could you start dealing cards at a casino with drug and weapons charges man or would that disqualify you as well? I wanna do something too, but like he said, I'm drawing dead. Ive been to like 30 interviews for a better job the last year and I do well, then fail the criminal background check and get ghosted.

I appreciate the kind words, however I’ve always been the type to set goals and follow through (although if you look at my past I’ve failed this miserably).
I WILL succeed. By December 31st, I fully expect 10,000 dollars in my GG account.
I’m going to share some stories when I find the time as to how my situation has come to this…. The highs and lows of life. No hand histories to be shared here…. You get a graph once a week and that’s it.
Some sick degen stories for sure.
The Beginning
The beginning
Honestly, I was pretty lucky growing up. I was given all of the opportunities to succeed in life. I was surrounded by a loving, supportive family and am not really sure how I strayed off path.
As a kid, I was always fascinated with mathematics. Early on, from grade 1-6 I would say, I was always a straight A student. I just had an ability to succeed with ease without doing any kind of studying. I always understood the material the very first time I heard it.
My very first experience with any sort of gambling game would have been in grade 3. My family and I went on vacation to Florida to visit universal studios. I remember being in the hotel room late one night, and for some reason my dad taught me and my brother how to play blackjack.
It’s ****ing amazing to me that he taught us this as this is a man who has probably stepped foot in a casino maybe 4 times in his life, never bringing more than 20 dollars. I had no ****ing idea how he learned the game, but alas he showed us it and I was intrigued. After that night, I never really thought about it again.
Around grade 5, me and my friends started playing on a game called Habbo Hotel. For those who don’t know, there are casinos in the game where people play blackjack. It is kind of confusing how it works, but you would wager furni (furniture) in the game and the dealer would roll the dice for the player first. Closest to 21 would win, and gave a chance at doubling your furni.
I would be either dealing or playing in these casinos night after night. It was completely based on an honour system; if the dealer didn’t feel like paying you he would just leave the room. I had been scammed multiple times (and also did some scamming myself).
Hard to believe that a kids game for child predators would be the start of a sick addiction I’ve developed that has basically made me homeless.
Given your spelling of 'honour' and intentions of playing on GG, I take it that you may be Canadian? Floridian vacation would still square with that

It sounds like you've thought this through very carefully. What could possibly go wrong?
I don't understand why so many 2+2 bloggers think homelessness is a valid option. Have you ever slept on the sidewalk?
You're going to need a tent.

I've slept outside in the grass before wandering around downtown all night. Someone gave me a blanket. Luckily I got home the next day but it's not fun at all.
GL OP.

Ive been there, its not a "valid" options, sometimes it the only option.
So true. I'm not that far away of being homeless myself if it wasn't for my mom. I need to get my **** together, fast.
At least you are aware of it and hopefully taking the right steps to improve yourself, man. I was homeless for about 6 months after I got out, don't wish it on anyone. Its good you have people that are willing to help you out though, without my friends and family who helped me, I probably still would be homeless. I hope everything works out for you in the end, remember gods favorite soldiers have the hardest tests, and keep your head up. (you too OP if you are reading this)
