The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.
Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.
There is zero - ZERO - evidence that anything was done "to make Pierre look bad". Every single day all the news organization put together clip reels. Poilievre endlessly parrots the same four lines in every single interview, question period, tweet etc, and so the "carbon tax election" is repeated in the clip reels over and over and over and over and over again. To suggest that ONE single time from one news organization they truncated his sentence to cut the "carbon tax election" that lost contest when juxtaposed by the previous clip and so was a tad confusing was somehow a malicious conspiracy theory to make him look bad is utter nonsense. It was definitely an error, but no reason at all to suspect it was a malicious one, and the fact that this is so incredibly rare and he is accurately quoted day in and day out the other 364 days a year clearly disproves the malicious intent bit.
That you think the CTV (or the CBC) is deliberately and maliciously editing clips to try and uh prop up Trudeau just shows how completely out of touch you are.
You think the LPC vs the CPC is a tie breaker kinda thing?
Young people in parliament, rightly or wrongly, are usually relegated to backbenchers keeping the seat warming a dutifully parroting the leaders line in the vain hope they might might might get a minor committee seat if they are loyal enough. There are rare exceptions.
except Justin and Pierre are the youngest pms or top 3... even tho one got the job because of his name

Than why did they fire the individuals ?

No he got the job partially on his name and said he would be a different politician transparent and put through election reform . Sadly he was one of the most crooked politicians in CDN history and you need to be a uneducated human to vote for him
Because Poilievre in a shockingly undemocratic and disgustingly authoritarian banned every single CPC MP from speaking to any CTV outlet until he got his pound of flesh. And pathetically, fecklessly, CTV caved to the bully and ruined the careers over what was likely just totally innocent carelessness given how they quote him droning his four lines the other 364 days of the year a conspiracy theory that it was out to get him is obviously false.
The move relies on people like you willing to be duper by Poilievres anti-media nonsense.
I am surprised that the Bloc is propping up the Liberal government. They are in a great spot for an election with the liberals in the toilet. As well the NDP's are basically represent the liberals.
The longer the Bloc waits the better the chances become that Justin steps down . You should want to go against Justin Trudeau leading the libs not a Mark Carney

depends whats your goal.
Uh the Bloc knows that Poilievre is horrible and entirely anti-thetical to their values. As he says clearly, replacing the liberals with a conservative majority doesn’t one iota advance their interests.

yup.
And Carney wouldnt change much in Quebec for the liberals.
The "PC" is almost non existent already here.
The big picture in the ROC matters much more.

Both valid points
National Truth and Reconciliation day reminds us what a failure Justin Trudeau is. We all remember the first one we’re JT decided to go surfing instead . His promise of clean drinking water in 4 years but still not met . His excuse it’s hard .
The 79 recommendations he promised to fulfill he has met 13 of them I do believe.
The only thing Justin’s great at is increasing his net worth while in government.
What are people's opinions on the house market over the next year? In my area listings have really increased and sales have dropped. Seems like people are trying to still sell at 2023 prices and buyers aren't.
IMHO I see a repeat of the 1990s .
Unless we have massive inflation again .

Ya the hope for sellers is that there a bunch of buyers waiting on the sidelines for interest rates to come down and then demand will jump as those people flood back in. But I suspect this hope is too rosy and the demand jump won’t be as large as they suspect due to weakness and uncertainty in the larger economy (example people not moving as they want to keep the job they have).
What on earth are you talking about? Like is this some right wing salary or are you talking about him receiving his legal salary?
Poilievre great at becoming a multimillionaire due to a lifetime drawing a government salary.

This is also going to weigh in on were you live. Take Alberta Calgary is red hot while Edmonton is a bit stale .
Saw a good run down the other day of a range of Canadian cities with actually low net immigration rate and high rent increases, putting to the test the narrative that rent increases are predominantly something to do with immigration.

I saw a piece on Global I do believe about a refugee family from Syria and I never knew they get sent to cities they do not get to pick. They sent them to Vancouver and they can not afford rent . Seems kinda nuts to send refugees to Toronto or Vancouver
The big cities have all the resources though, the jobs, the training facilities, multi-lingual resources, the local communities of immigrants from those nations, etc etc etc. Like I get the tension that they are also expensive, but there are a lot of advantages of big cities for new refugees integrating a new life that isn't necessarily set up in a random small town in northern BC or whatever.

yes let's put refugees in the most sought after places in a country, which not all natives can afford to live in

I didn't say eliminate all big cities but the Greater Vancouver area and Toronto may be a few areas you do want to avoid

To me it looks like people are currently listing their homes hoping to catch the top of the market but buying has slowed down. Sure a good house sells in a couple of days but a lot are sitting for 50+ plus days when last year they would have snap sold. I have no data to back this up, it's just my observation following the listings in my city and on the East Coast.
Another great week for the liberals refusing to turn over documents on their 400 million dollar green slush fund
Those protests in Vancouver Monday we’re disgusting
