NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
T
Washington being actually good is extremely bad for B1G playoffs. They've already lost 2 games and have murderer's row so they are never making the playoffs themselves, but their whole schedule is potential chances to add a loss to playoff contenders:
Michigan (53%)
@ Iowa (38%)
@ Indiana (33%)
USC (46%)
@ Penn State (13%)
@ Oregon (13%)
and then UCLA, who doesn't matter.
At least they're all road games.
If they managed to win three of those games and finish 8-4, it's just a huge blow to the B1G.
Really interested to see how the committee treats Ole Miss. If they lose to UGA, they'll finish 10-2 with the following slate of wins:v Furmanv Middle Tennessee Statev Georgia Southernv Mississippi State@ Wake Forest@ Florida@ Arkansasv Oklahoma@ South Carolina@ LSUIs that gonna be playoff worthy? I have LSU and OU both finishing around 7-5, so a decent chance that they end up
I will be saying this refrain until reality proves me wrong: A 10-2 SEC/Big Ten team is always getting in.

Not to nitpick, but 10-2 Rutgers is almost definitely not getting in. They're not even ranked, and they would lose 2 games the rest of the way

10-2 Indiana also not getting in assuming one of those losses is to Ohio State. If they lose to Nebraska and Washington and hten somehow win @ Ohio State, they are definitely live. But that OOC is absolutely putrid.

10-2 Mizzou might make it, but they're definitely not > 80% to make it. Assuming one of the losses is to Bama.
Aside from those... yeah, probably right
15:30:00 Virginia Tech -9.5
15:30:00 Stanford 9.5
stat that kinda blew my mind:
stanford is 2-17 S/U vs. FBS competition at home in the 2020's.
love this UNLV team so much
unlv settles for a 20 yd FG smh
disappointed in u barry odom....FGs ain't winning this
NOOOO YOU CANNOT KICK A FG FROM THE 3 YARD LINE, MUCH LESS WHEN YOU ARE DOWN 10 COME ON
Special teams FTW! Wow
two weeks in a row!
1. UNLV PUNT BLOCK TEAM
ugh these effing major penalties extending these syracuse drives. 3rd one tonight now. the last 2 lead to TDs.
tyvm
that interception was as bad as the one unlv threw in the 3rd qtr
HAJJ 4 HEISMAN
Bye, Sluka on deez nuts.
wrap up u idiot...they should never pick that 1st down up
lol at the roughing penalty afterwards...gtfo ref
and now 2 dropped interceptions on this drive GRRRRRRRRRRR
UNLV secondary has to stay on the bus while the rest of the team gets Blizzards at DQ.
worst beat is that cuse won’t have to punt in OT
in other news, michigan st. just kicked a FG down 31-7 with 20 seconds left to backdoor cover.
...and unlv kicks another FG smh...game over
these refs f**king blow
just what everybody loves to see
hard fought game decided by the refs throwing a garbage flag for no reason
