Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log

Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log

You know you who it is already. Can't recall my old password or even what email I used so here we are. I promised I'd start logging if legend n1h did. So that's why I'm logging.

Short term goal:
Successfully formulate a relatively optimized and easy to adhere to offseason diet model. In terms of food selection, I am more or less following Chris Tuttle's recommendations. Our very own BGP has been getting some free diet stuff from Chris since he has a full client load but will send a handful of emails to people for free if you ask nicely and want help. If you don't know who that is, go on youtube/instagram and see the man's work.

Remain injury free, which is easy with my new exercise selection which loco would describe as "leg press and lat pulldown 4 lyfe"

Adjust to a more strictly bodybuilding programming style as opposed to a "powerbuilding" style.

Here is the medium term goal:
2024 summer on stage in classic physique division at a level that would be competitive for winning a pro card. Winning the card itself is immaterial for the medium term, it'll happen when it happens and I will be patient.

Possible obstacles to this goal are gym closers due to continued zero covid policy, possibly moving countries and being unable to focus on prep in the interim, or international political disaster. All of which are legitimate risks.

Ostensibly we will start competition prep late winter 2024 and do a very long slow 20-24 week prep where I never need to bring carbs lower than 200g/day.

Long term goal:

Compete in one professional level show in the classic physique divison in the next 10 years. Don't really give a **** about placings.

Natty: No. Test, deca, mk677, humalog, cjc with 1295 with DAC, berberine (although the last one is both a PED and a general health supplement). Low doses. high dose AAS are massively overrated for hypertrophy, the real magic is the insulin and gh (or gh secretagogues in my case). less than 1g of injectables with PEDs that work on the IGF pathway is much better than 3g of injectables, for example. I'd advise anyone who wants to go down the PED route to incorpoate gh or gh secretagogue peptides along with insulin while they are still taking 1cc of test per week before you ever add any other AAS or increase test dose. You can keep your AAS doses much lower if you actually address this very critical muscle building pathway rather than solely relying on AAS, which are harsh... man...

No prep drugs or harsh AAS until the aforementioned 2024 late winter date.

Diet: High carbohydrates with carbohydrate cycling (2 high days the day before my 2 leg days, 1 low day on the day off, 4 medium days per week offseason), moderate protein around 1.125g/lb of bw, low to moderate fats. I tried a high fat Palbumo approach in both offseason and precontest this academic year. It was a ****ing disaster; this is a terrible way to diet for bodybuilding. Although if somebody is not trying to look lean/dry/hard on stage and maintain athletic performance in the gym, it'd be a great diet to follow because antecdotally it can lead to very high compliance for some individuals because it just destroys so much of your physiological cravings and lowers appetite considerably. Somebody like the apple-pied obese woman who's username I don't even remember might do well on this because she could probably eat 80/20 ground beef bunless bacon cheeseburgers twice a day for an emotional high, not feel hungry the rest of the day, and have only consumed like 1800~ calories daily.

More detailed post with training program and food log to follow. I'm a busy man.

This only works in countries where you don't require a visa and work permit. and it's just a dick move. They're doing the best they can, I don't hate the school or anything. I just find the location unlivable. Stick a gym and a sam's club within a few km away and i'm suddenly there for 10 years.

Semi-grunch, but how long is the contract for? 2yr or less, I say just grind it out, consider it a character building less, and find a better job/location next time. Longer than that and I start thinking about how to GTFO ASAP.

Edit: OK, just read more and you're right on the number. Tough call, imo.

2 years. And yeah **** that there is no way I'm staying there 2 years. Character building lmao that's such cope.

Push workout+biceps

Machine press: 1.5ppsx17, 12, 13
incline db: 30kgx19, 12, 10
machine flie: 3 sets
prone delt raises: 5 sets
dual cable curls facing away: 4 sets
pushdowns: 4 sets myo rep matching idgaf about weight 22 reps

BPC gym workout. **** Muscle Factory. Next time I come to BKK I am doing bpc gym not muscle factory.

Incline db was to full failure. So if I'm able to get to a gym wtih a machine press, I'll do 15, 12, 10 at 30kg dbs for the next week, then add 1 rep to each set each week. Not each workout. Then after a few weeks try a real amrap.

BW very light 99kg clothes and shoes. Existential crises=me not eating. But it's good because I'm literally starting a diet when I get back from vacation except I basically started dieting now but it's not actually dieting it's feeling emo/mental distress and having low appetite from high stress hormones. So really that stress is good, it's ok. It's fine.

Well yes, you'd need to beat feet for another country. But if you line up another gig and they "won't let you"... They don't need to let you. It isn't slavery.

Yeah, it's just like body building. There are probably even PEDs to help you out.

Kidding aside, I think that being forced to adapt to a non-ideal situation is useful in some ways. I guess I don't have a great handle on how not ideal this is because the issues that you point out don't seem that bad to me. If you're truly miserable, that's a different story, but I didn't really read it that way the first time around.

You definitely don't build character by getting bait and switched by an employer and living in a place that requires you to reduce your daily activity and makes it difficult to eat healthy. You build character by teaching 27 classes a week full of tards or something though, I'd totally sign up for that again.

just drive a sports car fast and carry a large feather

everything will work out

This is just cope for settling.

I'll probably just stick it out until July 2025. The consequences for bailing mid school year are high, breaking a contract but giving advanced notice and not doing it in the middle of the school year is a less severe infraction and less likely to create difficulties with work permit transfer. Bailing early for a shitty job thats a bad fit seems like a donk move when I can bail later and find a job that's a much better fit. There's an American school looking for history+econ in the city I want. Never taught history but I'm interested. New gym opening 25th that looks okay and will make my stay here more bearable.

Push
machine press: 2ppsx16, 9, 10
30 degree db incline: 30kgx15, 12, 10
flies: 3 sets
prone delt raises: 4 sets
skullcrushers: 10kgdbsx20, 12, 10, 8, 7

Felt good, left a lot in the tank on db incline

I feel like brainless Gen X/Boomers say **** like "it builds character" when you do something hard. Not every hard thing builds character. Punching yourself in the balls repeatedly does not build character, it just builds pain and potential infertility. I really hate the majority of people aged over 45 or so, to be honest. Their worldview on average seems incredibly out of touch with reality.

I wanna stuff all the blackpills down their throats forcibly.

The actual character building would be solving the mess that you got yourself in which requires actual work to make sure you can move to a better situation without cucking yourself in the process.

* ‘your reality?’

Idk. I’m not sure if I’ve ever used ‘character building’ but if I ever did it would either be tongue in cheek or as a way of telling someone that what they’re complaining about isn’t that serious. Which….tbh would be a not insignificant micro aggression

Is it any different than ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’? Which may be more palatable to you young uns?

I find this super dumb too.

Yes. The more I thought about it, the more it’s exactly the same

I mean... If you can't say it to a woman after getting raped, it is probably dumb.

"Think of all the character that you built tho!"

Probably not the time for pep talks tbh

lololol

I'm uncomfortably close to getting a mouthful of your black pills.

Evo's baseless, stereotypical, and hurtful ad hominem attacks against my generation aside, this seems like the correct path forward. Sounds like a crappy situation, but just figure out the best path forward and chalk this year up as an expensive (with respect to lost life satisfaction) lesson and move on.

hahahaha love it

Sorry monte, but i mean what I say. The world changed a lot and most people in your generation and older just seem to inhabit a completely different old reality and largely refuse to even acknowledge how much things have changed. And I won't say"oh but I hate most people of any age herpderp" like an edgelord because that's not true. I love most gen zs and gen alphas, millenials are okay. But boomers/genx are just the worst whether dealing with foreigners or Chinese.

Amazing workout yesterday

Chins: bwx19, 14, 11
bb rows: 70kgx10, 7, 6 paused all
plate loaded high rows: ??x12, 14, 8
db seated curls: 10kgx15, 12, 10, 10
barbell curls: 20kgx14, 9, 8

I might quit the myo rep matching stuff on biceps. Most people don't base their back workouts on chins and chins recruit a bit more biceps than they do back. I may have actually been doing too much on pull days for biceps.

Chins number went down because it's a lower bar that requires me to hold my legs up. If I'm able to relax my legs and let them hang I can always get more chins. It takes a lot more stabilization when the bar is lower.

I don't disagree with this, but at least at first glance it seemed solutions that didn't involve moving may have also been possible.

I have narrowly avoided his scorn as a tolerable elder Millennial.

Yeah. I'm just saying my blanket reaction to people who have this view of "dealing with it" is that they are just kinda lazy. There is a local idiom that roughly translates to "those are the cards you were dealt", which make a lot of sense to tell yourself under communism since it is all cope. I'm sure shitting into a literal hole in the ground and carrying water from the community pump in -20C was building a ton of character that sadly democracy deprived future generations of experiencing.

Which also brings me to a more amusing digression on "poverty" in America while knowing people who grew up subsistence farming without running water or sewage never ceases to amuse me. But I'll save that lol for another day.

Aren't you in your late 30s? You're talking like I'm the ****ing Cryptkeeper or feel wrath over here.

There's a generational divide for sure, but I think the biggest issue is that, in general, most people are pretty lol, but people in different generations have different lol tendencies. My solution has been to associate with the lol people of any generation as little as possible (practically speaking this means screening potential Millennial employees or clients; thankfully I don't have any Zoomers hiring me yet no cap frfr), but for the most part I think most in the sorts of professional environments many of us inhabit are decently insulated from the absolute worst of it. I also speak business boomer thanks to my old man, who is a reasonable one, so my older clients are fairly manageable, thankfully.

I definitely have a certain amount of #privilege, but I think most of it is downstream of the benefits of assortative mating and being selective with whom you choose to associate thereafter (in America at least; I can't speak for the PRC). I deleted a bit more about my recollection of your views of women in general and marriage specifically, but I will say that while I don't necessarily think you're entirely wrong in general, I think it shouldn't actually matter for someone of your level of accomplishment and that your pessimism is to a large degree self-fulfilling.

by NotThremp k

I have narrowly avoided his scorn as a tolerable elder Millennial.

Depending on what source you look at, my wife is either a young Gen X or an older Millennial; she self-identifies as the former because she finds many millennials insufferable.

I am fairly insulted being lumped together with boomers, wtf.

Also funny that the leftist politics message board that sprang out of the 2+2 politics cesspool consists mostly of Gen X-ers blaming boomers for many of the US' woes ("slightly" simplified, Melkerson can feel free to be more nuanced). Which goes to show that each generation will generally loathe the ones before it I guess.

I agree with Monte though. Overgeneralizing across large populations isn't very fruitful. I'm currently mentoring a zoomer, but given his background I find very few if any lol tendencies typically associated with zoomers.

Massive privilege mostly dealing with people from computer science-y educational backgrounds in the top 10% of their classes ofc.
