Thread to discuss Phenom Poker launching end of May.
Marketing themselves as player controlled with new take on rake-back rewards. Being backed by Alec Torelli and others.
Pls share thoughts or updates, particularly on the technical side of how a poker site works with DAOs and voting rights.

Hey all, I wanted to drop in and introduce myself. My name is Michael Dunlap and I've recently joined the team over at Phenom Poker, focusing on marketing and communications. I'm a long-time online poker player (back to the Paradise and Planet Poker days) and was lucky enough to not have any significant balances online for Black Friday. I'm a 15-year veteran of the casino business, after which I transitioned into marketing.

Does anyone know when this is actually going to release? I'm so tired of the current options in non poker states.
End of May, end of July, end of August...hope for xmas at this point.
10/7 official launch date according to an employee I spoke with today.
And they aren't going to release the rake structure until the platform goes live. Rates were described as "insanely better than Bros, on par with GG".
Tracking software is strictly in violation of the terms of service. There isn't any PT4 or HM2 support that I've seen.
Idk, I think coinpoker has a really strong grip on the crypto oriented online poker that's emerging. It'll be interesting so see what phenoms strategy is for capturing market share.

Certainly a concern. Being a complete crypto noob myself I was worried and a bit concerned at how complicated it all might be before I watched the Phenom teams videos on it. Quite honestly I was surprised how quick, easy and smooth it all was to get started from complete scratch. Kraken and the making the first deposit on there was pretty easy but the slowest part of the whole process.
PS. Fwiw the players on Phenom's Discord are saying the launch went ahead on time and everything is up and running good and smooth. I'll home and logged in playing in a couple hours.

Interesting to see if they gain action. My poker circle would never ever do kyc to play app poker...
Been about 10 tables goin all day since 11am ish. So fun to play Mixed Games!!!! Site has 2000+ thru KYC and 3500 Signed up. Once players get thru the EASY hoops of depositing its going to gain alotta traction imo. Tournaments by December. I cleared the 100 Token Bonus Tokens they are offering hardly playing much at all went from 15% RakeBaCK TO 17.5% VERY FAST. hmu WITH ANY QUESTIONS!

The rake is significantly better than on GGPoker (though rake on GGPoker is atrocious, especially for German players). Also depends on long-term rakeback % and on whether or not they rake preflop pots (does anyone know?).
(Though honestly I don't like the high % but with cap system; I wish they just had a single but lower % without any cap. But this is what everyone does now, so alas.)

15% immed RB up to 35% rb (PLUS weekly didvidend payments based on Tokens held and 50% RAKE SHARE) NO preflop rake/ steal BLINDS no rake...

I also think what is interesting is that their "revenue sharing" token can not be bought but can only be obtained by a) register through a referral link and rake 100$ within 50 days or something then you and the person that referred you will get 100 tokens or b) by referring people yourself.
I still have no opinion on how big the platform will become poker-wise but maybe if they have enough money to burn their token pumps significantly when "gamble-fi" hype returns.

YA...i got blasted for "spam" so, only so much can be shared. to clarify in regards to "Token pumps" This is not a factor as Token can not and will never be bought/sold in a traditional Token manner on any exchange. It can only be earned via rakeback and referrals and the token Value is only determined by Rake the Site Makes with 50% being paid out to Token Holders via Weekly Dividend payments.
Played a bunch last night.
8 game mix was a lot of fun. 2-7 single and triple draw games fun.
Was playing on mobile and ran into a couple glitches here and there but seemed like they were actively patching them and toward the last bit of the session it was way more smooth.
Either way, awesome to have an option to play mixed stuff and non holdem/plo games. Looking forward to traffic growing and game availability to increase.
