I got an infraction by crossnerd for a purported insult to a fellow poster , for a post where i was describing rightwing low info low iq voters who fall for obvious scams as "low value lives", i don't understand
Probably because although "all lives matter" is a right-wing troll, it's actually a left-wing value that all lives do actually matter and someone probably thought your saying that some human beings have low value was abhorrent - even if they disagreed with the politics of those people.

no the infraction was because of purported insults to a fellow poster (because CN misread the post), it is not against the rules to consider right-wing low info voters low value, or all the leftists in this forum would have been Perma banned already.

So I’ve overturned Luciom’s infraction because he is correct that I misread it as a personal attack to another poster.
The bad news is that upon review his post is actually worse than what I previously believed, and demonstrates a callous disregard for the lives of those suffering from Hurricane Helene, and describes them as “low value” if they were to believe the spread of misinformation.
It is abhorrent posting, and, given the consistent pattern of Luciom’s contributions to the forum, will be moderated in kind.

I never saw the post in question, but FWIW, using "low value" and "high value" to refer to individuals or groups of people is pretty common in the "right wing" social media world, and certainly isn't considered morally "beyond the pale" like you perceive it.
IMO it is pretty equivalent to the prevalence on the left saying, "from the river to the sea" and arguing when they say that they aren't saying anything beyond the pale; even if many (especially many Jews) disagree.
Expect dozens of righteously indignant posts when the temp ban expires.

I am sure many people in these disaster zones and previous ones like Hawaii and east Palestine feel like low class citizens the way they are treated .

I would not think there was anything wrong with using the term "low value" the way he does. Once the moderator spelled out how she perceives the term, I can understand her perspective, and wouldn't choose that hill to die on.
But like I said, it is pretty common in the online social media vernacular, doesn't carry such connotations in this milieu, and it isn't self evident it is beyond the moral pale.

Luciom is frankly nearing the end of his time here. I said last time that the next instance would be a perma, but I’ve decided to give him one more chance to get it right. The constant wishing people dead or executed needs to be toned way the **** back, though.

Ironically me, a lefty, was arguing that it’s pretty messed up that people are spreading all these conspiracies about FEMA and misrepresenting the amount of aid that effected people are getting, and that I think it’s getting people killed.
He said if they can’t google info to see if it’s correct then they don’t deserve to live.
So the lefty was the one caring about Trump supporters and the righty was the one wishing death on them. Sad!

Wishing Trump dead is about the immense difference that would have for billions of people. Mostly anyway. Wishing random virtually powerless people dead because you think they are dumb or because of their politics is awful.
